iOS8 / iPhone 6 Landscape Text Problem

Same issue on an iPhone 6, 128gb, iOS 8.4

I have the same problem with not being able to text sideways OFTEN. I took it back to Verizon Wireless, only to have it start working. Came home, stopped working. Apple Store, worked fine. Left Apple Store, stopped again. Love the phone but hate that part. My wife has the 6+ and it works fine. If I text portrait style, it works. On notes, emails, searches, sideways typing works fine.............., only texting.

Have only had the phone 3 weeks... Latest IOS as well. Reset, restarted, wiped clean at Verizon, reset, restarted... Still malfunctions.

Hi. I just bought a new IPhone6 in the last month and find that I am also having the same problem with texting in landscape mode and the keyboard not responding to my touch. When I turn the phone vertical I can text again. I made an appointment with the Apple store and went in yesterday and the gentleman reset my settings and indicated if this didn't work that they would restart the phone which would wipe out everything and then if the problem still persists that they would replace my phone. Today I am still experiencing the same problem which means I will have to make another appointment and have my phone cleared and set up again. This is the 3rd phone I have had in 14 years and the first time I have ever had problems with a phone. I am very disappointed to see that this was a known problem has existed for at lest 2 years and the guy at the store didn't even mention it! If this was a problem, why wouldn't the guy have saved me the hassle and just replaced my phone... Not very good customer service.... Sadly if you have defect in an automobile it is recalled... if a product has a deflect it should be corrected or pulled and not be sold! Hopefully your wife phone was replaced!!!

I have the same problem... rotating my phone to landscape randomly causes problems, such as the screen blanking out for a second and when the text screen reloads, the keyboard is unresponsive. Frequently, the phone automatically starts recording for a voice text when the landscape repaints. This morning, I tried to text my kid in landscape mode... it blacked out for a second again, and started another voice text, recording me swearing at the phone, then sending the text automatically!!! Arghh!

This is still true for me on iOS 10.3.1 on my iPhone 6S (I'm about to update to 10.3.2, but I'm assuming it's still not fixed there either).

I've rotated it back and forth trying all that mess only to simply double tap home, kill the app and reopen it, then it functions as it should... until the next time when it reoccurs, that is.
