Verizon iPhone 6 Signal Problem

I have an iPhone 6 64gb on Verizon Wireless. I have noticed a problem with my cell signal/reception. In an area where I have 5 bars in LTE, it will seemingly drop to 2 at random. Then, if I make a call, the bars will come back up to 5 after the call is complete. It will do this multiple times throughout the day. The other day I had 5 bars in LTE and tried to make a phone call. When I did, the phone dropped to 1 bar and I got multiple 'call failed' messages trying to complete the call. After I hung up, the bars would go back up to 5 in LTE. A couple of days ago, I had full bars in LTE but could not do anything with data. I had to shut my phone off and restart to get the data to work again. Is anyone else having this or a similar issue?

I have the same problem as everyone else on this forum. I just got my phone this week so it was from the next batch of Verizon deliveries. What does this mean? Why aren't our phones working? Will switching to AT&T solve the problem? Should we all give up on Apple and get Samsungs?! APPLE- help! Seriously, this is totally unacceptable. No one is doing anything to fix the problem 100s if not 1000s of people are having across the country for the most expensive phone possible in the States. We live by our phones- they need to work!

Has anyone found anything that works? Will going to the Apple store and getting a replacement change or resolve the issues?

I have had the same problem. I took the phone (64 GB Gold) to Apple and they ran a diagnosis on the phone and said looks like a RAM failure and lots of APPS crashing, They replaced my phone on the spot. The next day I had the same issue, I then took my phone to Verizon to have the SIM card exchanged which they did successfully. STILL the problem persists. It seems when I talk to either company they have no idea why this is happening. I find it very hard to believe that this discussion is the small majority of phone issues. I wish Apple and Verizon would acknowledge these errors, If it is a software issue it needs to be fixed immediately. I may return my new phone and wait till I know this problem is corrected. There also seems to be a sepearte issue with the type of memory that is used on this phone. Very frustrated with an Apple product for the first time in my life. I expect a non-working product to hit the shelves from Microsoft but not Apple. This is an embarrassing release of a product.

It has been almost a month since i got iphone 6 64gb from Verizon. I also got replaced once by Apple. I also got new sim card from Verizon but the problem with data download is awful. I already posted twice here. Let me briefly put again. Download speed of LTE comes to 100 to 300 kbps in daytime (6 am to 11 pm) and between these time it comes 4 to 19 mpbs. One more thing, if I go approx 700 meters away from my workplace in all directions, I will get great LTE speed. I talked with Verizon and Apple. Verizon's engineers reported that they have some signal problem in my area and may have congestion during daytime. Cuz of this, they gave me great promotions, like $5 discount x 12 months with 1-yr contract instead of 2-yr and anytime upgrade. , no problem with voice over LTE, no drop calls, nothing. One more thing, I put prepaid sim card (using T-mobile towers) in iphone 6 and there was no problem with LTE speed or voice. By all this, it seems Verizon has problem with LTE data speed in certain areas. Any inputs from anybody...!!!

Received my iPhone 6 through Verizon a few weeks ago and have had terrible cellular reception in my home — my voice dropping out to the point of having to end the call — whereas my husband's iPhone 5 has had perfect reception over the past couple years. I'm in the process of getting a replacement from Verizon BUT I think we've made a discovery as to the problem, and it's software.

I've restored from iCloud backup a couple times, and also set up the phone as a "new phone" the same number of times. Each time I "erase all content and settings" and set it up as a new phone, my reception is very good; each time I "erase all content and settings" and restore from my iCloud backup, the phone has issues with reception, sending/receiving texts, etc. My prior phone was an iPhone 4 with iOS 6, from which I made the iCloud backup, so my theory is that restoring this iCloud backup to the iPhone 6 (with iOS 8) is moving over old settings/data that are somehow messing the phone up. (I have not tried using a backup from iTunes.)

Anyone else have a similar experience? I'll keep testing (with both this and the replacement iPhone 6) and report back here.

Do you have Verizon's "Advanced Calling" feature (VoLTE) enabled? If so, this might be your problem. Advanced Calling uses LTE for voice calls. It does NOT transfer the call to 3G if you lose LTE coverage -- it will just drop the call. So if LTE coverage in your house is spotty, this might be the problem.

Another related issue might be that Advanced Calling is enabled on your account but not on your phone. This happened to me. My calls kept dropping when I got my iPhone 6, but once I turned on VoLTE on my phone it seemed to fix that. Go to Settings > Cellular > Enable LTE should be set for "Voice and Data". This only works of Advanced Calling is enabled, and is only supported on the iPhone 6.
