iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

This is sadly ridiculous. I've noticed the phone signal blinking in my car after the update and was wondering why. Then I try to make a phone call and it said 'function not availablue'. Turned BT off/on and the signal showed up. However when I tried to make a call, no display/audio on the car. This should not have happened and should have been patched right away... That's quite embarrassing tbh...

Just wanted to confirm, that iOS 8.1 totally fixed my problem. Re-did the pairing procedure with Toyota Touch & Go in my 2014 Toyota Auris Hybrid this evening, and everything now works flawlessly. Performed a couple of test calls to be on the safe side, and the audio quality is now even better than it was with my iPhone 4S. Once again, a happy camper! 🙂

Same for me...Incredible that Apple sold a phone with Beta system such as previous version ! And I feel very upset - when I had the "fantastic Support team - Tristan from Paris, this guy just made be thinking I was crazy and explained me that all these kind of forums are just bullsh*** "you understand we sold 19 M€ over one weekend...." I don't care - I also paid a "fortune" for this phone and all should work as a charm immediately. Anyway.... professionnalism is just a word... for this poor guy not a leitmotiv

Well unfortunately, the service industry in Europe has gone really, really bad (especially here in Sweden). Not many brands are excluded. However I have personally never experienced poor customer service from Apple (been an Apple customer since 1987), fingers crossed. If I would encounter that kind of ******** that you got, I would demand to speak to a supervisor or similar. Just like you mentioned, we have got 7-800€ phones, which gives us the right to demand a certain level of professional customer service. Glad things worked out for you as well. In my Swedish macforum I have however seen people who still have the problem, despite the 8.1 upgrade. I'm really glad I'm not one of them. 🙂

By the way, in the latest version of iTunes, there is indeed a (new) option of managing devices. There I could remove the 4S. However it still doesn't show under iCloud.com.

i suspect it's because your old iphone is already associated with another apple id? try logging out of your wife's apple id and log in with your apple id, then turn the phone off and go to icloud.com from your desktop and see what happens....

few days ago i was messing around with my macbook with yosemite and iphone, suddenly my iphone doesn't work with the car again. i went under bluetooth menu and sure enough, macbook was not listed. after i got the macbook to show up in the bluetooth menu, the phone works with my car again......

but i'm glad too hear 8.1 fixed your problem....

Finally getting a chance to sit down and write this.

After installing iOS 8.1 on my Apple 6 iPhone the bluetooth problems, but for one or two very minor issues that have work arounds that I am not going to go into here because I want to keep this short, have disappeared.

This makes one thing painfully obvious, the problem was an operating system or upgradable firmware problem just as it has been in the past.

Also just as it has been in the past Apple denied that was the case. It's only acknowledgement of the problem is the part in the release notes where it says, "Fixes an issue that could prevent connections to Bluetooth hands-free devices".

Pages and pages of people with problems wondering when, and if, something was going to be done. What would have helped them all was someone from Apple stating in a place where it could be seen, "We hear you. We know about it. We are working on a fix."

The the update comes out, the fix is in it, Apple gains in credibility and it's becomes 'a company that listens'.

Why is that never done?

I am a first time iPhone user, so apologies if I ask something stupid.

I have an iPhone 6 and cannot get any Bluetooth devices to work with my phone - plantronics headset or Bose Bluetooth speaker. I have not tried my car yet give these issues.

Reading through the previous threads it seems like the problem was fixed with iOS 8.1.2 which is the software version installed on my phone. I have completely turned off and on my phone. When I go to connect Bluetooth devices it says it is discoverable, but doesn't display any nearby Bluetooth devices (headset and speaker).

What am I missing please to fix this.
