iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

sspoke with a tech rep from Apline, regarding similar issue with my I've 530, and was told to clear previous devices from my head unit's memory. tried what he suggested and WAH-LAH, I'm back in business.

appearantly there's a compatibility issue with the newest update against the previous. hope this helps, being without what you're accustomed to having *****!

How do I manage that? I get a list of my devices, but I don't any way to remove them. I recently bought the iP6 and gave my old 4S to my wife. Still, the 4S appears connected to my apple id, although my wife haver her own apple id. Any suggestions please? 🙂

you will need to go into your wife's iphone 4s's setting and log your apple id out. meantime, you should also delete this iphone from your own icloud account. (find my device page)

to take 1 step further, you should also go into manage my apple id and remove this iphone 4s from your "trusted device" list.

Well, after I got my iP six, I performed a full reset on the 4S (the first ever) and just created an apple id for my wife, were the phone is now connected. I googled "manage my apple id" and was prompted to change my password, which I did. Nowhere I find anything about managing devices here. I only get the possibility to change password and such. 😕

p.s - I never "un authorized my iPhone 4S before performing the full reset". I didn't think you could, or that it was even needed.

p.s 2 - My wifes iPhone 4S (my old) is not logged in with my apple id. She has got her own.

Appleid.apple.com - security on the left - delete trusted device.

iCloud.com - find my device - delete your old i4s.

log in icloud.com-click find my iphone-click all devices on top of map-click on the device you no longer use (a separate window will pop up, with choice of play sound, erase ipad/iphone, lost mode, and delete from account. click delete from account.

if you don't see option to delete, turn off the old phone, then try find my iphone again. you will see it as off line. click it and you will the options i described above.

as for apple id:

log in appleid.apple.com-on the left pane, 2nd item (password and security)-right pane you will see manage my trusted device-click add or delete trusted device.

apple support page only talks about the steps, but some times it just doesn't match with what's said, so you have to play around, venture out... that's what i did, and i was able to figure it all out and make it work.

good luck!!😉

Update on my personal saga

1. After following a combination of the Apple support instructions and Pantherman's advice, I was able to get my iOS 8.0.2 iPhone 6 to work with my car Bluetooth.

2. After 1 week of it working fine, I am beginning to experience issues again.

3. I've noticed that 1 of my iCloud devices has disappeared from the list of Bluetooth devices list on my iPhone 6. I assume that this is why the Bluetooth is no longer working, again.

I'm going to wait until 8.1 to see if that resolves it. Otherwise, I'll re-do step 1 above.

BTW, remember how I called app tech support 2 weeks ago and they said that they would call back? They never did. Funny how a company that makes so much money could have such a poorly run / staffed technical support organization.

Like I mentioned above, you have to turn that phone off in order to have the option to remove from your account..,,

The thing is, the option doesn't say "delete from account" but "delete". What will most likely happen then, is that the iPhone will be remotely deleted of all of it's contents. That would only create even more trouble.
