iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

I'm hoping that Krakor has heard something back from Apple. After experiencing very similar problems with the bluetooth set-up in my motorcycle helmet I began searching the forum for a fix. I have a 5S and the bluetooth worked GREAT prior to iOS8. Earlier today, about 40 minutes ago, I decided to open up a support "case" with Apple, choosing to chat with someone directly about the problem. I'm still still looking at the cheerful, "You're all set we'll be with you in about two minutes" message on my screen!

I Suspect no resolution will come soon. I have a 2012 Passat and everything worked great on my iPhone 5 in the car I upgraded to iOS8 and now if I try to connect the phone via Bluetooth, it just rings and rings in the car but there is no actual phone call and I cannot "hang up". the good news at least for me is that my phone contract is soon up and i'll just switch back to a blackberry. Apple has shown quite clearly here (and with Maps) that they are more interested is rushing out software than ensuring they release a product that is actually decent.

I miss Steve Jobs!!

I have most everything working after jumping through hoops with deleting iCloud profiles and not making current back-ups or cycling my phone, etc.

Even with all of this the controls on the car for music audio still don't work. The next back, fwd, volume, etc. They work from the phone but not from the cars dash control or the steering wheel.

This not ready for prime time release is not acceptable.

Though I get it. Microsoft gets jumped on because they can't foresee, in alpha or beta, all the combinations the OS will have to deal with. Apple had an advantage because they kept everything propriety so that limited the possible combinations, thus you had a better performing OS at initial release. Now that Apple runs and interacts with all sort of third party apps and hardware there are going to be these initial roll out major bugs the OS is going to be dealing with.

So Apples OSx and iOS will get hit with the same thing Windows gets tagged with, "Don't use it until version X.1".

Solution Found? Maybe..

I followed the steps laid out in:

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473?viewlocale=en_US

They didn't work. I had to do 1 other thing:

However, I think it was Pantherman on this forum who said to make sure that all active devices signed into my iCloud account showed up in my Bluetooth settings on my iPhone 6. And I found that one of these active devices (an iPhone 5S) was not appearing in my iPhone 6 Bluetooth settings.

So, on the active device (iPhone 5S) that was not appearing in my Bluetooth device list, I logged out of iCloud and logged back in. After I did that, the 5S showed up in my iPhone 6 Bluetooth device list. My iPhone 6 Bluetooth device menu now shows all active iCloud-registered devices.

Now, my phone and Bluetooth audio both work on my Mercedes C350.

I am not sure if it will continue to work. I will let everyone know.

well, i am happy to report that my iphone 6 continues to work with my 2013 passat with RNS 510. it has been over a week now.

i've synced my iphone with my desktop (itune) many times already.

i'm pretty confident that the problem is with other devices that are signed in with the same apple id not showing up in the iphone 6, and the unusued devices not deleted from "find my device" in icloud.com.

these are 2 specific steps in the apple support link that should be followed.....

i still see many people having problem with bluetooth and their hands free system. i hope they read this support page and give it a try.
