iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

I have had the same issues as everyone here. I felt compelled to share my findings after some very lengthy testing.

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee running the latest Uconnect Firmware (14.25.5). I too upgraded to iPhone 6 and quickly realized there was a Bluetooth issue so I did some testing. I used an iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S and a new iPhone 6. iPhone 4S was not upgraded to IOS and was running IOS 7.1.2. Connected this phone up to my Jeep and everything works like a charm...Upgraded to IOS 8.02 on the iPhone 4S and same problem as iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 running IOS 8.02. Music seems to stream with no issue, but making or receiving calls seems to work for about 10 seconds then quits and transfers call to phone only (no audio in Jeep and shows disconnected on Uconnect screen). Some times upon connection it shows automatically redialing last call without connecting. Next step was to revert all three phones back to 7.1.2. Once completed all worked as they should...I then installed IOS 8.0.2 on the three again (iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S and iPhone 6) and the problem quickly returned. This is definitively an IOS 8 issue. Not a phone or hardware issue. I then tried some of the different things that people have tried including "Reset All" which does work. That is until you power cycle or sync with iTunes and then the problem returns. After playing with multiple different scenarios I have found the only thing that seems to hold even after a power cycle, reboot or iTunes sync...Sign out of iCloud and power cycle the phone then re-pair your device.

This issue seems to be tied to iCloud and IOS 8 platform.

Steps:

Delete Bluetooth profile on both the iPhone and the vehicle in question.

Sign Out of iCloud on the device you want to pair.

Power Cycle the phone

Pair phone with vehicle...Problem solved. No issues with power cycles, iTunes sync etc...

These steps above have been tried on 4S, 5S and iPhone 6 with the same success running IOS 8.0.2

Note the problem will return if you sign back into iCloud and then power cycle, reboot or sync the phone to iTunes.

I realize some may not be able to live without iCloud services. iCloud can be used, but only after you have paired your device. Then, as long as you do not turn the phone off or sync with iTunes it will continue to work. For my Jeep this seems to work. Much easier then a "Reset All" every time. Not sure if other vehicles will have the same success? In any event, looks as though Apple has a little issue here that needs to be addressed.

Thank you....I can't believe it but it worked. I logged out of iCloud, deleted all my Bluetooth connections. Cycled a reboot. Went to my benz and deleted my iPhone profile. Reestablished a Bluetooth connection and boom. Like new.

really ***** that iCloud does not connect, but it does the trick as I am in the road about 3 hours a day.

Thank you @tflemin2 ✌️

Great to here. You can sign back into iCloud without issue here on out as long as you do not power cycle the phone or sync with iTunes. If you do, you'll have to go through the steps again. The trick here is to establish the paired profiles without being signed into iCloud. Rebooting or syncing negates or corrupts the profile somehow?

hi, i'm happy to report that after 4 days of testing, my bluetooth connection is still going strong, not a single drop call.

the 2 important things are:

1. any unused devices should be deleted from icloud "find my phone" page.

2. all devices logged in using the same apple id have to appear in your iphone 6's bluetooth setting. this has something to do with that hand off function where you can answer your call from ipad when your iphone is nearby.

I'm having trouble understanding the directions in the article. When I check under Bluetooth/My Devices on my iPhone 6, I see my car and my Bose speaker listed, that's it. My 2 iPads and my Macbook are NOT listed. When I go to icloud.com under Find my iPhone, I see all my devices listed (including two that are off line). What am I supposed to do now?

are your ipads running ios 8?

if they're running ios 8 and you're using the same apple id as your iphone 6, then they need to be shown in your iphone 6's bluetooth set up menu. to make them appear, you need to have all devices on, with their bluetooth on, place them nearby each other. if they don't show up, you can try power cycle your iphone. it worked for me. (of course all of your ipads need to be logged in with the same apple id).

if both of your ipads are active (you're using regularly), then you don't need to do anything there. if you no longer use them, then they need to be deleted from your "find my device" page in icloud.com, and you need to log your apple id out of those devices.

before proceeding to next steps, you need to delete your car from iphone 6, as well as deleting your iphone 6 from your car's hands free system.

power cycle your iphone, then you can try pairing with your car again.

hopefully i explained myself well.
