iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

Hello from Paris,

Of course nothing different here. Same issue with my car. But Let me share my experience. I had a call with a guy "Tristant" from the support. First this call was incredible (I recorded everything as it's unbelievable to have such a bad support). It's a long time I'm a client from Apple, never faced this kind of ********. The guy explained me first this kind of communities, forum of users experiences is just a peace of s... "You know 10 Millions of units sold in a week-end it's normal to face some issues blablabla... commercial ********. Anyway, he didn't solve or try to solve anything just explained me iPhone 6 is a new generation phone that can be not compatible with older devices. Fine, maybe, not convinced at all but ok... so my car is an Audi A3 2014 just bought a couple of weeks ago...So I understand from this guy that I need to buy another car each time I buy a new iPhone... Crazy ! funny... not so much. Desapointed.

I've read this morning the problem should be solved (meaning it's a known problem) with the iOS 8.1 release (beta testers confirmed this point). So I'm upset because I lost my time with this support wich is totally incorrect with clients.

Your fixed worked for my iPone 6 plus with my 2013 Nissan Qashqai 360.

I suspect the issue was the initial restore from my iCloud 5S backup. I think the trick is to set the iPone 6 up as a new phone out of the box.

I have now had the phone a week and the BT issue has been driving me mad! Had this fix not worked I would have taken the phone back next week if Apple had not got off their backside and fixed it or at least told their customers they acknowledged there was a problem and were on the case.

I love the phone, especially the camera and screen but the experience has been spoilt by this issue. I will never again buy an iPhone in the first month or two of a new release. Sad to say Apple are losing the status of "it just works" and are heading towards the title of "the same as the rest"! We are an Apple household but I will start looking at other manufacturers if Apple to not get themselves back on track.

Apple, if you ever read these forums what sells your products is design, reliability, quality and customer support. Lose any of these and you will lose market share.

To all those who have shared their solutions on these forums thank you very much.

😟

I worked on trying to get a 2010 Toyota Prius to work tonight. What I found out is it's one or the other. Either the audio works or the phone. It will not allow both to sync together. In a normal Bluetooth setup the Phone and Audio are separate but still work together. In this IOS update they won't work together.

It's a IOS 8.xx issue. APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS.

I just purchased three phones. Two iPhone 6's and one iPhone 6 plus. This could be a deal breaker for me. I'll be calling AT&T tomorrow.

This really concerns me...I have a car that is 30 days old and my old iphone bluetooth worked in my car like a CHARM. Got the iPhone 6 this week and everything is *$%@. Nothing with Bluetooth works, nike fuel band, panasonic phone, my motorola bluetooth headset, VW car phone, NOTHING WORKS. I hate to have to take this phone back after all the drama of getting everything set up again! Apple needs to address this IMMEDIATELY!! I have an ipad, imac, ipod, and iphone 6.

Since the Bluetooth problems is beyond Iphone 6 hardware and is affecting previous Iphone models then hopefully it isn't an Iphone hardware problem and is confined to software bugs.

The lack of Bluetooth connectivity isn't a minor bug> IT IS A MAJOR defect which by denying hands free telephone access while driving may lead into auto accidents and tickets for using a cell phone while driving. Trust we will see collateral consequences flooding the courts.

Looking through Internet articles there is rumor Apple has an update (8.1) that will correct the Bluetooth problem. If Apple management wants to get all the other bugs out before releasing to avoid further embarrassment they should worry less about egg on their face and get their customers driving safely hands free. Attorneys stop salivating. Apple be smart.
