iPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

Ok here is my findings:

Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.

Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.

I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.

I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.

Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.

I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

This is why creating new Apple IDs won't work:

Many of us use our Apple devices to maintain continuity between platforms that benefits us as we move through our days. Contacts, calendars, notes, etc, and now docs and the ability to answer a call from multiple devices.

ALL of this is contingent on ALL the devices sharing the SAME Apple ID.

Nes pas?

Update on my case -

Chatted with Apple Support. The first person I spoke to told me to try basic steps like turning Bluetooth on and off. She quickly escalated me to a Senior Advisor.

The Senior Advisor, after looking at this email thread and reviewing my case, said that my issue would be "escalated to engineering" and that I would need to talk to someone live to confirm details before the case was officially accepted.

I called in to Apple Support and talked to a Senior Advisor who told me that he filed an RTA: Request for Technical AssistanceHe said that an RTA usually takes 2 to 3 days to get a response, but that since call volume is higher than usual due to the iPhone 6, he will probably not get a status on my RTA for 5 days.

So that is where we stand. I'll let everyone know what I hear.

My advice: do what I did and make sure Apple knows about your issue and gets an RTA filed.

same issue as everyone else here.

mazda cx5 2014

iphone 4s

ios 8.0 broke it. ios 8.0.2 did not fix it.

i tried deleting all bluetooth devices on my phone and my car. signed out and back in to icloud. none of these things fixed it. i did not try deleting google maps (i do have it installed).

i refuse to delete all settings on my phone. i don't have time to restore it to working order any time soon and this is NOT AN ACCEPTABLE WORK AROUND PEOPLE. that's not a work around. that's a joke.

the best part of my issue that i didn't see anyone else mention is that after my phone pairs with the car after a (car) start my car thinks the phone is ringing. it says "incoming call press to answer" and does the built in car ring. pressing the ignore/hangup/whatever button in the car stops the ring but no stereo functions resume for about 20-30 seconds. awesome.

We all need more music and less talking to other people in our lives anyway, so i'm going to look at this as a blessing for now. turn off the phone and turn up the tunes.

Same exact problem all of you are reporting with my 2013 VW CC and iPhone 5. Worked for over a year until I updated to iOS8. 8.0.2 did not solve the problem. I can stream music but cannot use it for calls. Sometimes it randomly acts like the phone is ringing and telling me to answer it like the original user reported but it isn't actually ringing. So annoying. Apple has billions of dollars in cash, why don't they take $500 million of that and hire some more genius developers to fix/test the issues. I have been a loyal Apple user since 1986 but this is getting annoying.

Agree from first hand experience... Prior to iOS8.0.x iPhone 4s, 5 and 5s had no issues with bluetooth calls in BMW, Ford and Audi. After iOS8 and apparent fixes, all still are tanked and cannot make or receive calls through in car bluetooth. THIS issue alone in my opinion should have been enough to PREVENT THE RELEASE of iOS8. What a total balls up Apple. Well done Apple for releasing this defective Bluetooth code into iOS and for all the other issues too. Good work, take a holiday folks and celebrate your acheivements.

I'm begging Apple to say something or acknowledge this issue. I've patiently waited for something and still nothing. This is my first time on this site to post something but I'm beyond frustrated. I've never had this problem and everything was fine with my iphone5 with the bluetooth in my BMW. Now that it no longer works and I've done every fix mentioned, I've actually gone back in time before Bluetooth was invented. I hate this phone and regret getting it. I thought this new phone was my answer since my iPhone 5 was part of the battery recall and I couldn't do anything without a charger since it would die quickly. This disaster has sucked the life out of what used to be the joy of getting the new iPhone! I've spent hours of my own valuable time trying every fix mentioned in hopes it would work but nothing.. Not to mention how slow the the phone is in general like the internet. My husbands iphone 5s is faster than this new iPhone 6. Nice!!! Overall just plain disgusted with Apple and their total failure with this latest launch. The iOS8 is horrible with all the changes and in my opinion just not good and no longer user friendly. Even my iPads are slower, Safari is just a nightmare to try and use now between being slow and crashing. I've always been a huge Apple supporter, our whole house uses Apple products, have had almost all their products and we have never experienced such a mess. Missing Steve Jobs!!!!!!

I agree with you. When I tested Yosemite Beta 3 I found residual bluetooth connections like iPhone 5s (2) and iPhone 5s (3) I submitted the matter as this failed the continuity (handoff option). Do you have handoff active on your iPhone? off so switch it off and turn bluetooth off and then back on. I swear the bluetooth failure is more about handoff than about bluetooth. Some have no problem and I am positive that handoff on is causing these problems. Handoff uses a combination of bluetooth and local wifi using the personal hotspot capability under the hood as to speak.

I have the same issue with my new Iphone 6 , its a VW BT system on Golf MK7 , BT connects but it is saying "NO NETWORK" , i can not make or receive calls , Apple also sent me to the Car Manufacturer , its ******** ! its clearly an IOS bug !.

I am able to fix it by deleting all connections from car and phone side and than soft reseting the phone but the problem returns after a day.

come on apple ! please release a patch !
