iOS 8.0.1 no service and no touch id

On Call - no phone due to iOS 8.0.1 disaster!!

Really angry! Not a word from Apple!

It not only merits a letter of apology but it merits Tim Cook to put up a video message on the home page both apologizing and promising to do right by us. I've suggested to Apple Support that that "do right" should be free Apple Care for all who installed 8.01 (they track who we are).

This is a major problem to not have phone service for going on 7 hours now and no estimate of how much longer it will take to fix. A lot of people only have a cell phone and people can be put in danger if they don't have access to making an emergency call.

I also don't have access to a computer, any word on a fix yet. We all should be getting something for this I mean I haven't been able to use my phone for over 5 hours what would I of done if i got stuck somewhere.

Apple has pulled back the update, restore your phone to iOS 8.

Is there a way to downgrade? Ive been stuck all day without a phone. This is a major problem as my iPhones is tied to my business and cannot receive any calls at this point. This is unacceptable service from Apple, I'm so ****** I'm considering returning the phone if there is not a fix by the time I wake up tomorrow morning. Ive been with Apple for years and have many of their products but this is just a slap in the face considering people rely on their phones for business purposes. In this day in age how difficult is it to allow a downgrade if something isn't working properly... Microsoft allows it!!!!!!!

Normally I wouldnt be so upset but I rely heavily on this phone for work purposes and customers cannot reach me now.

My shiny new iPhone 6 was essentially turned into a very expensive iTouch today. I spent over an hour fixing Apple's my phone via the restore route.

Apple FAILED today. Miserably.

I had my iPhone 6 for 6 hours when the released this 8.0.1 update, which I installed OTA and now I have no service and no touch ID. Spent all night trying to get back to iOS 8 but the restore keeps failing with unknown error 17.

No Genius bar appointments until Monday.

Is that reply for me? If so, I think that you may have misread I'm afraid - I spent all last night tying to restore back to iOS 8 but the restore fails with unknown error 17. This happens with the phone in normal and DTU mode. What I need is to know if there is another way to restore.

U Can download the ios8 over the internet and get it done using iTunes by checking update even though ios8 is not update anymore....may be u get me because iOS 8.0.2 May not be released soon

Please read my post again before answering! I have tried to download and restore many times and the restore crashes. Don't give me advice if you don't have new information. I am intelligent enlighten both to Google AND read.

Im having the same problem iTunes keeps giving me an error when I try to restore. I'm gonna try reinstalling iTunes see if that helps. I'm wondering if it's because I'm using the Yosemite beta. Maybe try this too JustynW.
