iOS 8.0.1 no service and no touch id
Looks like iOS 8.0.1 broke my ability to make a phone call and touch ID on my iPhone 6+. Hope there is an iOS 8.0.2 in the next few hours.

If you click "restore" in iTunes, it will download it for you. Otherwise, search the web for "8.0.1 ipsw." I found links via RedmondPie.
wow my iphone 6 has not shown me any update 8.0.1 guess if it does I wont update

What a complete disaster!
I had a new iPhone 6, now I don't I seem to have a new iPod Touch 6.
How could Apple let this happen, there are 1000s of people with no phone service.
I cannot be contacted now to pick up my partner, they can't call me to say when.

Apparently it only affects iPhone 6 and 6+ and Apple Support is recommending restoring via iTunes to 8.0.1 which will fix at least the cellular issue. Or download the 8.0.1 file and restore manually.
8.0.1 has been pulled from over-the-air updates.
Steve Jobs needs to rise from the dead and ***** slap the entire engineering team. What a fail.
No service or touchID here. iPhone 6 on Verizon. What's the fix??? I didn't backup of course.

Ditto. iPhone 6, T-Mobile... no service ("searching...") and no touch ID. I have a lovely paperweight "Designed by Apple in California".

Oh, I wish I hadn't switched my backup to iCloud yesterday from my Mac Mini. 😠 How do I fix it?
