iOS 8.0.1 no service and no touch id
Looks like iOS 8.0.1 broke my ability to make a phone call and touch ID on my iPhone 6+. Hope there is an iOS 8.0.2 in the next few hours.

iPhone is BROKEN!! iPhone 6, 128GB on Verizon. Totally unacceptable. Didn't anyone test this? This is worse than the Obamacare launch..
So close.. Downloaded, but saw the reports of the issue before I installed. Is there any way to delete the downloaded update from my phone?
This is awful like what a huge bug! If we don’t get compensated ill be disappointed.

Ditto sir Ditto.
same!
Same story here - no cell connection nor does Touch ID work.
On Support Chat with Apple. They say to restore from iTunes. Do not reset all content/settings from the iPhone itself - only restore from iTunes. Should resolve the problem.
Apple has pulled 8.0.1 so they are evidently aware of the issue.
here's hoping for a quick fix... One thing's for sure, though; I won't be installing 8.0.2 until the ALL CLEAR is announced! :-)
I tried this but it didn't work for me :-(
I wish luck for others, though
The fix I used was to do a RESTORE with my lighting cable to iTunes. When the restore was complete I tested my iPhone6 was a NEW phone and verified that it connected to the cellular network. Only 1 of my 3 touch ID's were still there so I had to redo the other 2.
I then restored my data from a backup and it is fixed. I am using 8.0.1 on a iPhone 6 with Verizon.
I have the same problem too. iOS 8.01, Three network, no service and touch ID not working.
Restore now via itunes
I'd call Apple Care, but that's a little difficult right now... NO PHONE SERVICE.
