Can't AirPlay mirroring since update iOS 8 on my iPad air and Apple TV latest software update, any solution?

I would restart iPad Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

restart Apple TV (pull plug for 30 sec and then connect it again)

restart wifi router (pull plug for 30sec and then connect it again)

Same problem. This didn't make any difference.

drag your finger from the bottom of the screen going up to bring up the control bar. click on the airplay icon. then on the screen that shows the iPad and the Apple TV. drag that screen up to view whats below the Apple TV and you should see the Mirroring option.

i can't see where to to this. What screen are you on to do this.

i've also tried deleting and reinstalling Remote App, but that didn't work either....neither on iPad or mini.

I Lost mirroring and Airplay too (trying to connect my iPhone 6 Plus to the TV via Apple TV but noticed in my case it was because I had the Remote App operating. Closing Remote restored the facility to Airplay and Mirror.

After upgrading to iOS 8 you restart the iPad. So, make sure you are on the same network... In my case, I have several networks available and most of the time my Apple TV do not go back automatically on the same network of my iPad. Go to settings - wifi - networks on your iPad and make sure it is on the same network of your apple tv.

It took me about an hour to find it, but in order to get to the "MIRRORING" on/off slider switch, you must swipe upwards on the Apple TV name to see the button which is just under it.

Silly to hide the button like that!!!!

That was very helpful Matt - not sure I would have ever found that! Still, mirroring tries to start and fails. I'm on ios 8.0.2 and the latest Apple TV update, so I'm assuming this functionality is broken and in need of a fix?

Make sure the Apple TV has the latest OS as well. You may need to check it manually in the menus.

I've also had issues when the Apple TV has been wireless as well.

Indeed Matt, as already indicated, it is up to date. Wired connection as well. So hoping Apple looks into this one...

MIne woudnt mirror the iPad to the Apple TV either, in the end the solution, which I don't understand was very simple. The AppleTV box was connected by Ethernet to the router. I unplugged that so that the AppleTV had to use wifi. Then mirroring was OK.

I tried going back to Ethernet, but it kept dropping out of mirror mode. Wifi is stable. All iPad mirroring works, including zooming into photos.
