No Service on Ipad 2 GSM 3G after IOS 8 Upgrade?

Upgraded to IOS 8 on IPAD 2 3G, Cellular Data on but relfects "No Service". AT&T said it's Apple's problem....Have not found a solution or a fix... Is Apple going to release another update?

iPad 2, iOS 8

iOS8 on an iPad2 is not fit for purpose.

The 3G issues are only ever temporarily resolved by any of the reset options mentioned in this thread, & as I have a 3G iPad so I can continue to work when there is not a WiFi signal, the issues with iOS8 causing loss of 3G service means it cannot be relied upon.

That combined with the general sluggish performance, crashing or hanging apps (Apple supplied ones, not just 3rd party) means what was an essential business tool has now been turned into an unreliable toy.

iOS7 at least worked reasonably well on the iPad2 (although I agree with janvdc, iOS6 worked even better).

If there is not going to be an acknowledgement (unlikely) or quick fix, then surely there should be the option to at least restore to iOS7 so that customers can use their devices the way they had been before this "upgrade".

I had the same problem, but fixed it last night. I backed up using iTunes, did a complete reset, all settings, all data, deleted everything, and registered as new iPad. Then restored from iTunes.

It worked, I have had 3G service for the last 24 hours.

The restore didn't work perfectly, some photos disappeared, as did some apps, but the photos were backed up, and when I downloaded the missing apps they came back with usernames and settings intact.

So, all is good with it now. My iPad (2 32Gb GSM) is now faster, about the same as with IOS 7.

I also continue to have recurring problems with my IPAD2 with AT&T service since I upgraded to IOS 8.0.2. I'll show cellular service then for no apparent reason, it goes to No Service. The only way to regain cellular service is to turn the iPad off, then back on. That is NOT a satisfactory fix since it's inconvenient, time consuming, and battery intensive. (Is it a ploy to make me buy a new iPad after 16 Oct?)

I discovered that going to settings and changing the region to anything else causes the iPad to search and regain cellular service without restarting. As soon as service is back, change the region back to where you are located and this fix holds until the iPad looses 3G again. that can be anywhere from a few hours to a day. The sluggish performance is still there though. Also Safari crashes, etc etc.
