Double/Echo Email Notification Sound (iPhone 6 Plus and iOS 8)

I have iCloud push email on my iPhone 6 Plus. When I get an email notification the sound seems to 'echo'. Another way to explain how it sounds is it sounds just like when I get a notification and my iPad and iPhone are right next to each other and both notifications come in at once. It did not do it with any of my past iPhones.

Here are the steps I've taken to isolate the problem.

Going into mail.app in Notifications and turning off "allow notifications" will turn off all visual notifications, but still allow audio notifications (no doubling of audio notifications)
Turning off just "notification sound" by choosing "none" for each account will result in no audio notifications at all.
Doing a "Reset All Settings" does not correct the problem.

All other notification sounds are fine, it's just when I get an email.

Does anyone have the same issue? Any solution?

I have this same problem. I thought it was just me, but ive also heard my phone vibrate twice for an email. I have it set to the default "Quick" vibration which is only one buzz.

I am having the same problem on my iPhone 6 plus 128GB. It is driving me crazy....hopefully this will be fix in the next update.

I'm updating to 8.0.2 and hoping my phone won't brick and fix this issue.

I Am having the same issue. Posted in a different post what was happening for me. So far I havent been able to figure it out:

When my phone is locked it buzzes when I get a new mail message (expected). When I open the phone I get the alert banner (expected). On one account however (and only on one of three mail accounts set up), when I get the alert banner, the phone vibrates for a second time like there is a new message (not expected). I have tried playing with all the different sound settings I can think of but that either turns off all the buzzing on any new message completely or reverts to the dual vibrate.

Just curious - what is the difference between the one account and your other two?

I am having the same issue. I notice if I have a VIP sound set, the VIP emails do not have the echo, but all others do.

I'd like to know why you don't get the echo on your other two accounts and only on the one.

They both do and they're both iCloud email accounts. I don't have any VIP emails or VIP sounds.

I just added Yahoo accounts to my phone and I still get the same double notification sounds. I also deleted my iCloud accounts.

For me the account with the echo happens to be my work Exchange account. It also happens to be the only push account. Aside from that the actual notification settings are the same between all the accounts.

Interesting. All I have is one iCloud email and it's happening to that one.

I checked with the iOS 8 Beta users on another forum and they said that none of the Betas showed this issue - it only happened in the official release.

Hi

I have recently installed the new version 8.0.2 on my iPhone 4s 16gb since I installed the software I am having the same problems with my email alert it seems to go off twice when getting an email all the time

yep, iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB with double echo also. Seems to be all mail services (iCloud and Hotmail for me).
