cannot download silverlight for sky go

Hi

I have just replaced my iPad 2 for a macbook pro. I want to be able to watch sky go extra on this as i spend a lot of time in hospital, so it said on the sky website i needed to download silverlight so i downloaded it but when it came to opening it i couldn't, it says

“Silverlight.pkg” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

which means i cannot watch sky go. I do spend a lot of time layer up either in hospital or on my bed due to disabilities so it really was great when sky brought this out. Hope you can help.

Many thanks in advance

Hi thank you for the information but when i click on the word finder there is no open in the box that opens up there is only, about , services , preferences , hide finder and hide others.

I just spoke to sky and they said that apple has not updated their systems to run on that only up to os x lion, anything above will not work, this really bugs me as the sky go extra is kind of my lifeline due to all the time i spend in hospital,i can't believe i will not be able to get it.

Is there anything else i can do please say yes lol.

Thanks hun x

You might have already solved your issue but just in case you haven't. I have just struggled for the last half an hour with the sill message of "“Silverlight.pkg” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed."

Luckily I have a solution for mine. You might want to try:

  • system preferences
  • and where it says "allow apps downloaded from" and ensure you have selected "everywhere"
  • then try to open the silverlight file again.

Hope this helps
