My Health app lost all previous days data for steps, distance and flights climbed after updating to 8.02. Anybody else?

I just found a fix to this in another thread here, and it worked! Here's the thread, but I will describe below: Re: Health app stopped tracking
Here's how I restored my "lost" steps (which disappeared after I updated to 8.0.2):
Open Health app
Go to Health Data > Fitness > Steps
Tap "Share Data"
You should see two data sources: your iPhone and Health
Tap "Edit"
In mine, Health was below my phone's name on the list, so I moved it up to the top of the list.*
Tap "Done" and go back to "Steps."
You should see the "lost" data now.
Go back into "Share Data," edit and move your Phone back to the top of the Data Sources list, then tap Done again.
Return to Steps, and all your data should be showing on the graph (previously "lost" data and any data recorded since the loss).
*If Health is #1 on the list for some reason, I assume just switching the order, then switching it back will still have the same effect.
I had a similar issue (iPhone 6). Eg I ran 3 miles yesterday, and the health app shows no distance for yesterday in the charts, but it did yesterday before the 8.0.2 update. My steps and flights climbed are both accurate though.
Yep, same thing happened to me (and a few people on MacRumors are reporting same). I came here hoping to find a solution, maybe a way to restore my lost steps. If I can't trust the Health app to save my activity data after a routine software update, it's useless. I was about to ditch my fitbit since the M8 + Health can do the same thing, but even the free fitbit app backs data up to a remote server, which Health apparently doesn't. Hmm, if only Apple had some kind of cloud backup system in place to help with this... An "iCloud," if you will. Dare to dream!
After I updated to iOS 8.0.2 I began entering all my data and even syncing with the updated MyFitnessPal app and everything seemed to be working fine. I had multiple dashboards including the blood glucose one so that I could see trends in my readings. Everything worked fine until later that night, 9-26-2014, when all my dashboards were gone from the main screen. I went into each separate health data category and all my data is gone. Now if I even try to click on the "me" category the app just freezes. It would have been nice if all that data was backed up on iCloud and I could restore, but I can't.
Using an iPhone 5s 16GB on iOS 8.0.2.
I am also having this problem. My dashboard was reset this morning and I tried to re-add my various data points to it. The switches toggle, but the dashboard remains blank and all my data seems to be gone.
That is exactly what is happening to me. I have tried to turn off the read and write data to the Health app for MyFitnessPal and turn them back on and nothing happens, it's like the Health app is just frozen.
Me too. health app freezes in 'Me' and dashboards aren't working. Healthkit is working, various apps are sharing data, but the one feature I was looking forward to isn't. Try reinstalling all apps, hard reset...nada.
Way to go Apple! I just checked the app again and all my dashboards and data are back. Apparently somehow the data must be backed up because I didn't restore anything, restart my phone, or delete any apps.
Okay, so the only HealthKit app I had installed was MyFitnessPal. I deleted it and did a hard reset (home+sleep) and my dashboard & data is back. Are all you guys using MFP? Maybe it's a MFP bug?
Either way, try the hard reset.
I thought I was the only one. Started having the same problem after the 8.0.2 update. I also use MyFitnessPal (MFP). I've noticed using the M7 processor still logs activity in MFP, but not in HealthKit. In fact my selected health readings disappeared and every time I shut down the app, I lose them again.
There is definitely a problem with HealthKit.
I am not using MFP, but rather RunMeter, which accesses pedometer data.
Today I did a bunch of walking/running, and health app says I did 50 steps. Run meter says something like 15,000 which is what I would expect. Seems like apps that access health data appear to hijack the data completely or something.
I wasn't using any other apps, I was just tracking my steps with the health app itself (and comparing it to my fitbit -- side-note, they were always within a few hundred steps of each other). I just tried the hard restart trick and it didn't restore my pre-update step data. Unlike others have reported here, it seems to be working fine since the update, just wish it hadn't wiped out my first week of steps (I'm on a 64 GB iphone 6 VZN btw).
OOnly way I got it to come back was to restore my phone from a backup. did this yesterday and it retained all my existing data, had to reset my dashboards, though. Hopefully it doesnt happen again. Too big of a pain to fix.
I Saw the lost data too then I found it. I just updated and was upset to see my walking data missing. Then I found out they renamed the old data "health" source instead of the name of your phone. If you go into setup you may see the old data there but under a different sournce name than your phone name. The health app says it only applies one set of data to the graph. So I can graph and see my old data but then not my new data. I was able to edit the setup and change the order from my phone name to the health data and vice versa. Would be nice if Apple was able to combine these two sources in the health graph.
My problem was that the Health app was not tracking my steps, though it was tracking my distance. After unlinking and relinking, restarting my phone, trying to edit sources, and other things I forget but never worked, I went to Health App > Health Data > All > Steps then turned off "Show on Dashboard" then restarted my phone, back to Health App > Health Data > All > Steps then turned "Show on Dashboard" back on. It started showing my steps after I did this. However, it had been at least tracking my "Walking + Running Distance" this whole time so I don't know if it will work for everyone, it just worked for me.
