Why won't health app sync?
WWith the new update, is there something I need to do to connect apps to the health app? i use several fitness apps, and none of them seem to "request" access.
iPhone 5, iOS 8

Thanks dbs It's works perfect for me 🙂
I'm on a iPhone 6 Plus and running 8.1 and NOTHING AT ALL IS SHOWING in the HealthKit data. Everything is turned on and many selections just lock it up completely. It us to work slightly but that info is all gone now too. This app is very UPSetting as I expected much better use of my data.
Thank you, this has been driving me nuts for a while, and the solution above worked fine. Enabled everything for starve in health book, then scrolled through my (year and a half) of my feed in Strava and it populated health book.
Not quite sure what I'm going to do with that data there as opposed to just Strava, but maybe in the future if I combine with a lot more health data or something...
Thanks again.
Admittedly, I didn't read every post in this thread, but I didn't see this mentioned. I think it's why it's "not working" for me.
"You will only be prompted to turn on the feature if you have a wellness device registered to your account. Current wellness devices are the vivofit, vivosmart, or Forerunner 920XT."

Mitch, to whom you replied, didn't mention Garmiin. If you're saying that the only devices that work with Health are the ones you've mentioned, you're incorrect. While they may be the only Garmin devices that connect directly with Health, there are also others that do as well, including ones by Jawbone, Withings and several others.

Okay.
Why did you post a link to the Garmin forums?
You responded to Mitch Aunger with a link to Garmin forums when he did not mention anything about Garmin...

Yes, I am aware of that. It changes nothing about what I said.
I did what dbs suggested.
Enabled sync of cycling and workouts and then scrolled through my Strava feed. The result is mixed:
It should not be this hard or unrealiable which frankly makes the Health App a waste of time.
I agree, I don't understand why you can't sync the cycling data.
I'm looking forward for the next update of IOS 8 and hopefully the developers will make it happens that we can also sync the cycling data.
I Think that i found the bug in the health app
when you cycle, not very fast iphone thinks that you are walking/running as duch it records the activity under walking/running
even that the distance is not accurate
when Strava tries to updat the data it the update is denied due to the fact the health app already has data qt the same time/date
apple should allow Strave to override the data
looks like starve may have a fix...

Strange, but it worked for me. Just opened app, then scrolled through the "feed" of my own past activities. Filled in my complete cycling mileage history (among other fields). Hopefully won't have to do the every single time to force a "syncing" between Strava and Health. Thanks for the tip - never would have thought of that one!
My contact app doesn't show as asking pre-mission and I can't sync the two apps.
I can see the connects app is installed but nothing more
Yes and as I stated my garmin connect app won't synced with the apple health app.
In the health app you can see the connects app listed as an approved app but thats all, it doesn't show in sources.
