iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

Thanks to you and the others who took the time to write in with information I truly appreciate your time and thoughtfulness in sharing the information to help us.

Not in any way mean to shoot the messenger, I do not think that it is appropriate customer service to tell a customer they have to do a few hours of work to fix a bug in this major update that was going to give us all great utility and enhanced function. Seems to me the company missed this in testing and should take the responsibility to crank out a patch ASAP. I believe their message should be, " If you 're desperate to get Bluetooth working, here's a fix that requires a few hours of your time. Otherwise, we're working round the clock on a patch and will deploy it ASAP". Just my two cents. I am also reluctant to try this fix since I had problems upgrading two phones from iTunes due to "an error occurred" and had to do the phone restore and only got partial apps back.

Hi,

I'm not against you neither in favour of apple, like you I think they should create a fix for this asap, but since being able to use my iPhone connected to my car making/receiving calls is an important feature I've looked for a quick fix, and it didn't take hours to apply the fix, just a couple minutes, like I said in my previous post a simple "reset all settings" fixed it (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings), I haven't loose any data, photos, music, messages or anything (be aware that it looks like there is a bug with the new icloud drive and reset all settings http://lifehacker.com/ios-8-bug-causes-reset-all-settings-to-erase-icloud-d-1640 780326).

I don't know if this quickfix works for everybody but I think it's worth to try, it worked for me.

What would be interesting is to understand WHY a certain percentage (not 100%) are having Bluetooth connectivity issues. From day one, with both our new iPhone 6, they connected to our car systems and after 8.0.2, they continued without interruption. And both phones were set up from iCloud backup from day one. So why don't either of my phones have any issues? There has to be a common thread between the phones that aren't connecting though and that's what Apple needs to concentrate on. Because for many, we are not having Bluetooth issues. I'm living proof.

I am having the same issue. I reset the settings on the phone and it did not help. Though my Bluetooth syncs with my audio on my Camry, the browse function for playing iTunes from the phone does not work (it does not appear on the screen at all)! I have to manually choose the song/artist from the phone or press the Seek or Track buttons on the Navigation screen until I get to the song I want. This is not an issue that the dealership can resolve. I talked to my dealer and he said it is something in the Apple ios8 software. So, Apple get on it! You really messed up.

How the **** can it be a "dealer" issue? My story very simple - I have a Toyota, it worked fine with my iPhone 4s (7.1.2), my son's Android and my wife's Nokia. Now, after upgrading my iPhone 4s to 8.0.2, I have "Incoming Call / Private" on dashboard immediately after connect, without any call indication on the phone, but, my my son's (Android) and my wife's (Nokia) phones still works fine?

I am so amused that Apple has blocked my previous comment telling Apple to get their sh*t together, and that I am going to a competitor. My post also said that I wish people wouldnt post all the 'fixes' for the bluetooth/car problems because they are all crap and do NOT work. And for the people who just post to GLOAT.."I'm not having any issues..."...good. Then why are you here, jerks??? Just to gloat?

Glad you're amused. When you break the terms of use for this forum, expect to have your post deleted or even, for a bad enough infraction, banned from the forum altogether. So, you can say who has the right to post here? And only those who have your misery should be able to post? Sorry, but that's censoring and you don't have that right. There's nothing wrong with someone checking out what's going on and seeing that some people are NOT having issues. And to advise people they shouldn't try anything because you KNOW nothing will work, only serves to imply you want other's to suffer. If that's your goal, good for you, but maybe, just maybe someone will find a solution that works for them.

Who's the jerk now?
