Stop or Disable Apple ID Email Notification for Signing on Different Device

I have many devices to sign onto my email. Each time I use a different device, Apple send me an email like this.

Your Apple ID was used to sign in to iCloud via a web browser

Date and Time: September 26, 2014, 1:15 PM EDT

If you recently signed in to iCloud using a web browser, you can disregard this email.

If you have not signed in to iCloud recently and believe someone may have accessed your account, you should reset your password at My Apple ID (https://appleid.apple.com).

Can't I just verify that I use these other devices and web browsers and disable this feature? Or is there away to just stop getting these? How do I do this or who do I call? It also happens when I look for my phone (Find My Iphone App) to see if I left it at the office or grocery store or somewhere else. HELP!

iPhone 4S, iOS 8

Are you signing out of Find My iPhone app each time you are checking it. Since I use a passcode and Touch ID on my 5S, once I log into Find My iPhone the first time, I have not had to sign in again. However, I understand if you are tracking more than one Apple ID, that would be different, but the 3 phones that we use here in the house all use the same iCloud ID, so I only signed in once, and still use the app whenever I want without any notification emails.

Actually the app is suspended in the background and is not running. And, what Gail said is correct. I was referring to the passcode which leaves you logged in, so you do not get the notification. If you would like to let Apple know that you would like to see this freedom of choice, then go to the feedback page HEREand click on the appropriate link and let them know.

I hope this has helped you some.

As Chris noted, Apple is not here, and you made this point previously. Your best bet now is to send feedback to Apple as Chris suggested:

I have done that. The point I want to make is that it appears that Apple always thinks that I am using a new iPhone 5 each time I log in. Could this be an artifact of the new 'dynamic MAC' address sent to wi-fi routers?

I really, really hate constantly seeing this annoying email. I use browsers all the time for mail on different computers, all very secure and trusted, yet I continually have my inbox bombarded by this horrid email from Apple. Apple needs to rethink annoying customers on a daily or more than daily basis, that frustration will build and make long time loyal customers reconsider their product whole line. Allow users to turn this notification off for their accounts or at least build in ways to add a trusted computer to account that does not do this.

Then you might want to let Apple know about this. This is a user to user forum, and Apple does not participate here. Apple gets its feedback on their feedback page, HERE, and click on the appropriate link.

Guys i have tried to sign in from a trusted device and i can not receive these notifications but when i sign in to my apple id from an untrusted device i receive it right away . so if you want to stop receiving that try to Authorize your device and if you want to keep receiving it . Stop authorizing devices that you don't use 😀 .

This is the links you need to follow for mac and windows:Deauthorize your computer using iTunes - Apple Support .

Authorize your computer in iTunes - Apple Support

This is a user to user technical support forum. Apple does not read these forums. You can send feedback to Apple here: Apple - Feedback

Have you tried clicking on the Sign Out of iCloud option? It has a box you can check that says "Remember this Browser". If you sign on with the same browser, you shouldn't get any emails, or if you get one, it should be very random and very seldom.

And I'm not sure why you think that it is not a difficult problem to solve. Unless you coded it, there would be no way for you to know how hard or easy it might be to rectify. And, in the case of the Remember this Browser, if you haven't ticked that, then it is probably that way by design. Just because you haven't figured out the exact pattern or combination of things doesn't mean that it is not an intentional design.

Best of luck,

GB

Thanks for the suggestion Pino, but no joy.

I'm still getting the email. Note:

All of my devices -- iMac, MacBookPro, iPhone 6s (three of them), iPads (two of them) -- are "authorized."

Note:

  1. I don't get the email when I access iCloud via Chrome.
  2. I do get the email when I access iCloud via Firefox.
  3. I do get the email when I access iCloud via Safari.
  4. I don't get the email when I use FindMyiPhone on the iPhones that are thumbprint-protected.
  5. I do get the email when I use FindMyiPhone on the iPads that are password-protected.

As others in the string have noted, this appears more glitchy than by-design, and it is undoubtedly related & similar to other iCloud issues Apple is experiencing since the release of the Yosemite OSes.

Apple should be paying attention to these forums and addressing these things. This is not a difficult problem to solve.

I'm sorry. I meant the "remember me" selection on a web browser when signing in to iCloud.com . I didn't realize you were getting the same message from the iOS devices.

-Regarding that, if you enable a passcode on the device, it should remain logged in and not keep sending you emails. I open Find my iPhone daily, and I never get any emails - but I do have a passcode set on my phone. Does that make a difference for you?

Sep 27, 2014 6:50 PM in response to stix2u

Not sure. It was implemented shortly after the fiasco with the celebrity photos being put out on the internet, so it may be in place to alert people any time either iCloud or Find My iPhone are accessed to ensure that unauthorized access does not occur.

I have similar alerts set for my Amex Card and my Debit Card. On those, however, one does have the option to have them on or off. Possibly that will be the direction Apple goes at some point....
