Airport Utility cannot find airport express

Hi!

I have an Airport Extreme base station (model A1408). I also have a 1 generation Airpoirt Express (model A1264). When I plug in the A1264 to the wall my Airport Utility on Windows 8, iPhone and iPad find this device and I can configure it. Everything works like a charm.

Today I bought a new Airport Express (model A1392). When I connect that device to the wall it does not appear in any of my Airport Utility apps and is just blinking in amber....

Anyone that can tell if/what I am doing wrong or have any suggestions to what I can do?

Kind regards

Leyan

I am having the same problem and tried to follow these instructions:

Tap on Settings on the home screen

Tap on WiFi

Tap on AirPort Express under the heading of Setup a New AirPort Base Station

Follow the prompts

However, under WiFi, there is not a heading of "Setup a New AirPort Base Station"

I looked on my phone and iPad.

My AirPort express has a slow blinking amber light instead of green. Could this be the problem? Would I get this option if the base station were available?

Thoughts or suggestions?

Different issue entirely.

Please start a new post and include information about what version of AirPort Express you have, as well as whether you are trying to set up the AirPort Express using an iPhone / iPad or a Mac.

If it is a Mac, what operating system is installed? If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the Mac's screen, then click on About This Mac and post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

Do you have a 1st or 2nd Gen AirPort Express?

The model number of a 1st Gen is A1264 and it is A1392 on the 2nd Gen. Check on the side or bottom of the device for the number......hard to see, so you may need a magnifying glass.

Next, we need to know what version of AirPort Utility that you are using. Open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Utility menu in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About AirPort Utility.

Post back with info on what model of Express you have and what version of AirPort Utility that you are using.
