I have the same problem on both my iPhone 5 and 5S with the same message. Can't back up on any of my PC's or even Macbook Pro. Have spent several hours with Tech support troubleshooting and then was elevated to senior support desk to troubleshoot some more but they couldn't figure it out either. They don't even respond to my emails or call me back anymore. Curiously, I can back up to iCloud without a problem and restore back and forth between the 5 and 5S. After all this I tried troubleshooting and reset all settings and set up as new iPhone. Once finished, I tried backing up on the PC and it worked fine without any problems this time (did not have any of my backup info or apps at this point). I then reset again and downloaded my backup from iCloud and tried the back up again to my PC and I get the same error message back again. Not sure what's going on. I wonder if it could be an app or maybe something in the settings in the iPhone that is causing this problem. I've tried the steps in the article provided but none of that worked either.
