Photo size in iPhone 5 iOS8

Hi,

I'm using an iPhone 5 32GB. Before updating to iOS 8, I deleted all of my photos which was around 2000+. After updating, I saved some memes and GIFs, and there's only 45 photos in my iPhone now. But it takes up 900mb. Is this for real or is this a bug/something wrong with my iPhone? I mean, 45 photos couldn't take up 1GB right? That's outrageous lol. What should I do? šŸ˜•

Thanks

Yeah, "Nope" is the answer to your question. I don't sync photos from my Mac to my iPhone. I know, weird right? Like I pointed out, my 300+ photos of Cara doesn't even reach 100MB, and somehow just 45 photos of memes takes up almost 1GB šŸ˜ How about photos saved from an app? Like VSCO CamĀ®, or some meme maker, does that make any difference to file size?

Also, my iPhone is losing space everytime I plug into my Mac w iTunes on. Get it? Like, I didn't press sync and there'll be 6.5GB free, but without syncing it drops down to 6.46GB, etc. What sorcery is this?

Photos saved from apps do take up space on the phone. It would depend on the app as to file sizes, etc. You would need to check with the app developer to answer that question. Space changes reported in iTunes are based on what you have done on the phone. It has to check capacity based on what is on the phone, and if you add something on the phone, iTunes needs to change the space left based on this new infomraiton. The first report you get is left over from the last time you plugged it in. No sorcery to it.
