.mov files not playing

.mov files not playing

So I've transferred pictures and video from my iPhone 4s and 5 to my Windows based computer running Windows 7. I attempted to play the video's in WMP and it wouldn't play the .mov files. After a search, I downloaded QuickTime as the recommended player for .mov files. Now, the files open in QuickTime and display the video I'm about to play; however, when I play the video it plays then stops as if the video is only one frame. I used the movie inspector and it shows the following:

Source: E:\iphoto\video0035.3gp

Format: Photo - Jpeg, 583x1036, millions

When I click on details for the video file this is what I see:

Please help.

Hello, your attached screenshot doesn't load so I can't see what's on it. Anyway, maybe converting .mov file that you can't play fine is a good choice to try. If you decided to have a try, you can start off with the free trial version of iorgsoft video converter.

The file you're trying to play is likely a picture based on the size 954 KB, a video file would be much larger. The problem appears to be with the transfer from iPhone to computer. I'd try the iPhone discussions rather than QT, you'll likely get a lot better help.

TThe screen shot was showing the file was a .mov file; however, movie inspector shows .3gp. Anyway, I downloaded the program and it said it could recognize the file. When I used avs converter, its only converting 5 seconds of motionless video... Also, when I play the original movies now... It's audio and no sound.

Thanks for the input, I will also try this. I don't understand the issue when they have worked many times in the past!

I'd try the iPhone forum and get info on how to transfer to computer. The iPhone is a poor choice for a smart phone. The new iPhone 6 is old technology and a scam. I have a Droid Maxx that is a year old, that has better specs. The Samsung Galaxy 5 is far better than latest iPhone, Apple ain't doing anything but advertising low end devices.
