ipad not updating; storage problem

I have tried to update my iPad to 8.0.2 via iTunes. The message says there is not enough room and I should please change my media sync options to provide for more storage.Not sure what that means or how to change. Don't find the phrase"media sync options" in help. Please let me know what this refers to. Thank you.

The process outlined in the article (disabling sync options, applying, enabling sync options, then applying again) may help free up the necessary amount of space, as this can help remove orphaned files that may exist as the result of interrupted syncing in the past.
