IPad Air! Keyboard disappears after one keystroke.

I have been having similar problems with my ipad 3 where the keyboard would disappear but it was on numerous pages ( not just google) where it would disappear after i started typing which would also usually result in errant clicks of links, especially on sites like amazon and ebay. It would happen in both chrome and safari, but chrome is my preferred browser. Ended up going to the settings tab and under the bandwidth option i turned off preload webpage and it appears to have fixed the issues with the keyboard disappearing and well as being able to use the drop down menus now on pages that i previously was unable to use on the ipad. Again, this is with using chrome for browsing.

For all experencing the problem with Google in ios8, the problem is Google, not ios8.

Open a Google search from Safari.

LOok at the Settings button (star looking thing) in the upper right hand corner.

Once Settings are open, look for "Google Instant Responses".

Set it to "Never...".

End of problem in Google...

As others have stated, the following DOES work:

1) open Google

2) look at top right corner, and CLICK THE WHEEL, next to the sign in

3) in the drop down box, click SEARCH SETTINGS

4) scroll down to "Google instant predictions" and choose "NEVER SHOW INSTANT RESULTS"

5) scroll to bottom of page and click SAVE

now, this fixes the problem. BUT...you will need to repeat the above each time you clear your history in SAFARI.....BECAUSE, by clearing history, the Google settings will automatically change back to "SHOW INSTANT RESULTS ONLY WHEN COMPUTER IS FAST ENOUGH". ........so, unless you are clearing your history quite often, it's not much or a problem!

I had the keyboard go away problem and solved it by removing Google.

My New iPad (iPad 3) does this not only in Google the web site but also in the app Numbers as well as others. Because of this I believe the "Google" fix will not help. This has been going on for some time.
