boot camp installation hangs at realtek audio stepSearch or ask a question

I am trying to install boot camp for win 7 home prem 64 bits on Mac Pro laptop. The boot camp installer is hanging at the Realtek audio step. I tried other versions of boot camp, version 4.0.4326 and it complained that it did not support this system. I tried version 5.0.5033 and it complained that it did not support 64 bit. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue with Windows 10. Anyone found a fix for this? I tried going into the Bootcamp installer folder and install Realtek drivers manually which succeeded, but when I launch the Bootcamp installer again, it still gets stuck when installing Realtek drivers.

Ok perfect was thinking they might be an icon on the OS side as well.

Yes Windows works fine once it's loaded, with the exception of trackpad right click still not working. As I mentioned when Windows first loads, the screen flickers for about 2 seconds then everything is fine.

As for audio, the volume doesn't seem as loud as it is on the OS side even though I have the volume all the way up. Not sure if this is a result of RealTek.

Another minor thing I noticed is the scrolling is not as smooth as it is on the OS side either. Tried playing with settings to no avail. I no some of these are minor issues, but thought I'd throw them out there since you guys are way more knowledgeable than I am. Thanks for all your help thus far Loner T.

Is there a trackpad tab in the Control Panel -> Boot Camp? You can try a SMC and NVRAM reset to reset the volume db.

There are some registry settings for scrolling that you will have to explore further. Look in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\HID\VID_???\VID_???\Device Parameters
.

Please see http://superuser.com/questions/310681/inverting-direction-of-mouse-scroll-wheel as a reference.

Hi All,

I followed the same steps but the directions did not work for RealTek installation as the default in bootcamp is 32 bit and I installed 64 bit. I went to RealTek's website and directly downloaded and ran the installed for 64 bit windows (with windows 10 showing supported) but still don't have sound.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for responses with support.
