Can't install software on my Mac OS X 10.9.4

Hello everyone,

I seem to have a problem installing new software... For some reason I can't install anything, the installer opens and I follow every step, but in the installation step, the bar just keeps moving but never actually moves as in completing the bar... I tried update from the app store and I can't, I press on update and it stays selected but nothing happens... I tried manually install 10.9.5, no luck, I tried with other softwares like, Teamviewer (which i really need to install), and Java.. but all is the same in all of them.

Can someone please help me? I need my computer for school and work and this can't happen ... :s

I'll be happy to send anyone images of the problem if I wasn't as clear as I wanted to be lol

English is not my main language

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo Santos

Hey again, and because you seem to know a bit of mac problems and how macs actually work, i was able to find the last software I did install and nothing here smells right:
So I downloaded from:

http://istat-pro.soft32.com

and inside was a software called installed.app (i found it very odd but i installed anyway....)

now, with a little of digging the guy who made the software is this guy:

http://www.mirceasoaica.com

Another strange thing, and this is a classic case of BS (sorry my language, i'm just mad) i found, when exploring the package the in the resources/enIproj/credits.rtf I found this written :

Engineering:

Some people

Human Interface Design:

Some other people

Testing:

Hopefully not nobody

Documentation:

Whoever

With special thanks to:

Mom

This is got to be the software that messed up with my system..

I'm not an expert in programing but after i ran this, i did get what i was looking for and i didn't found any sign of installer.app in my pc so I was happy, but apparently this **** must have ****** up my system....
any ideas?

By the way, when installing i was able to go to regists folder and some of my error were in the PackageKit which does make sense...

any ideas on how can i get out of this mess with reinstalling everything? :s

Open Console App and expand the triangle next to /var/log in the log list.

Scroll down until you find the install.log. Select that.

Click the Clear Display button.

Try to install some software.

Then, go back to Console and copy/paste the results of the log into a reply here.

I don’t know if I will see anything, but I can try.

I’ll also try to take a look at that installer.

The first thing I noticed is you downloaded this installer from a software repository and not from the developer. Even the formerly legitimate sites are bundling crapware into the downloads. Never download from any of them.

I will use MacUpdate to find software, but I always go to the developer site to download. I’ve never seen a problem with MacUpdate, but I don’t trust any of them.

Here is the first clue that you should never go near that site:

The download from that site was not iStat Pro. It was their “Download Manager” which I’m not about to run on my Mac.

Download this program. It was created by a forum member here. It downloads as a single app, so you won’t have to install it.

Run it and it will list all the things that are running on your Mac. Once it completes it automatically copies the output to the clipboard. Just paste it in here.

Also, see here. It may help you identify what you have installed. It is likely some form of adware.

http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-identification/

Thomas also has a program called AdMedic that can remove most of the current adware.

You are absolutely right, i shouldn't download from these websites and I'll make sure I'll never do it again..

And other thing is that sometimes it gives me an error and sometimes it doesn't.... so this times didn't give me an error, the progress bar just kept on spinning.

Anyway, this is the log:

My RAM as always been this way and i can't update it, and ir always worked, so that's not The reason. About disk space is tha same thing, i think 10 GB of free disk space won't do any diference. About The host file, I know but i did it because i needed it for a software i use at work ... And it's been like this since 2013 and I've instaled other aplications before, again, not a problem

You are very short on available disk space, you don't have enough to install more, and 2GB is not enough Ram for Mavericks to run in.

Can't install software on my Mac OS X 10.9.4
