My iPod Touch 5th generation won't turn on?

It was working fine, there is no damage, it won't charge, iTunes doesn't recognize it, I've only had it for about two months, I locked it and when I went to check it again it would not turn on, it doesn't respond to anything. I have a warranty, would Apple replace it? Or is there a way I can fix it? I've tried everything the other questions have said to do. I can't restart it, or put it in recovery mode. Help?

I need help. i have read many people having problems with turning on. i was listening to music, and decided to turn it off(not shut down) before the teacher said anything about it.5 minutes later i want to listen again but it wouldn't turn on.my battery was fine so i have no idea whats going n, but just in case, i plugged it in to charge. it wouldn't respond by showing that battery low thing. i'm trying to fix it by holding the home button and the power button.

just in case, i updated my iPod to the 9.2.1 version about 2-3 days ago. before and after the update , my iPod would lose WiFi, and everyone else was fine. our router has been working strangely by turning on and off. my brothers iPod 5 is working fine. i have the 6. i have the update, he doesn't. My brother also says my little brother has the update, but my little brother has and iPad mini retina display and etc. The iPad is working fine too. And my home button is a little bit slow to reacting, sometimes i ave to press it many times or i have to press it hard.

thank-you.

Btw, this all happened today(hopefully it shows the date of the post)

Worst case scenario, if your home button is broken open up the iPod and use something metal to connect the button contacts. ONLY IF YOUR device is OUT OF WARRENTY, only if you have NOTING TO LOOSE on the device, understand what you're doing and have watched several tear-down videos online. But if the drain thing works then awesome.

My iPod 5 is 4 and a bit years old now! It wouldn't turn on so i thought id have to take it apart. I was thinking: maybe battery faulty, cables come undone, someone else dropped it or water damage..... but thanks to finding this thread is took me 10 seconds from having a dud paperweight, to a fully working ipod touch 5 again thx guys!

Everyone, I have the same issue and i have the SOLUTION

I also have a broken home button and it never seems to turn on no matter how many times I click on the power button or charging it. For those who are reading IIIaass's answer but cannot follow his steps due to your home button please listen to me. Watch this video, it might sound crazy but it worked!! Freezing your ipod drains the battery and plugging it back in afterwards seems to bring it back to life. Spread the word!!

My iPod won't work! A While back in September I cracked the screen a little bit. It worked just fine. Months passed by and the charger started having problems. I even went out of my way to buy a new charger to get it working. Still no luck. The only way it worked was when I bent the cord in an angle. Around the Super Bowl I started having issues charging it, it wouldn't stay charged long even to use it. Randomly one day it shut off and hasn't been working since. Idk what to do. Ive contacted Apple Support, they said it would cost a lot of money to fix it. If someone could help me, that would be great! Thank you!

Home button working

Press at the same time the Home and the Power button for like 10 seconds and wait for the apple logo appears in the screen. This is an hard reset. It should work.

Home button not working

You can't make an hard reset so the best option is to put your ipod/iphone in the fridge for a couple of hours, maybe 4-10 hours depending on the percentage of the battery when it turned off or the temperature of the fridge.

Once the battery is fully drained out, you can check it by pressing the power button, the charging apple logo appears on the screen, and "voilá!". Charge it and it's working again!
