TouchID not working while iPhone plugged in

I am using an iPhone 6 16GB GSM with the Apple charger that came with the phone in the box. I have recently noticed that for some reason TouchID isn't working when my phone is plugged in. When I unplug the phone, it starts working again immediately. The phone doesn't even seem to be recognizing that I put my finger on the sensor (doesn't display "try again" at the bottom of the screen). Has anybody else experienced this or does anyone know how to fix this?

I have an iPhone7 and Iam experiencing the same exact issue. I noticed it for the first time today. I had always unlocked

Ha, I skipped right past your post. So it is grounding issue? With me it will work while charging case or no case. So long as it's not on a gfci circuit.

Mine works when it is charging but it doesn't work when it is charging with my case on. My case is just a clear hard plastic case. Is anyone else having the same problem as me?
