Battery Drains in iOS 8.0.2 iPhone 5s

Yesterday i updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 8.0.2, since then my battery has drained really fast its gone from 100% to 80% in 10 minutes. I called Apple support and they ran a diagnostic test on the phone but nothing showed up.Does anyone have any solutions to why this is happening?, i always force close the apps after i finish using them so i honestly don't know why this is happening.Is it just iOS 8? if so can it be resolved in the next Apple software update?

Same issue with battery and I've disabled, turned off everything I don't regularly use. Also noticed the mail app hangs/freezes. Hopefully Apple will fix soon!

Both Ipad mini and iphone 4s suffered from the IOS 8 update (battery drain). Apple should provide a solution for this mess, clearly warn before upgrade or let the user to downgrade.

Have you tried to reset the phone? I found that worked for me.

I just installed 8.1. I don´t notice any improvement... It is time to move to Samsung now, I´ve had it.

Try resetting the phone to the factory default after making sure you've backed it up. It worked for me after I was having a similar problem with my iPhone 5s and 8.0.2..

i have done that 3 times, and the issue comes back within a day or two.

Incredible! 😟 I updated Iphone 5 to 8.1 and

now I can see how baterry drain. IT is worst then ever. I expected that this will solve the problem but now I have Iphone always attached on cable.

I Updated to 8.1 and seem to be okay. At 90% with usage and not in airplane mode.

I also upgraded to iOS 8.1 and my iPhone 5S seems to be back to normal again. It is not draining as fast or heating up as much. 🙂

FInali I resolve my problem with battery drain on iphone5. Bought new battery. And installed ios 8.1 first did not solve the battery drain so I decide to buy new battery. 70$ worth solution.

Hi All,

Delete whatever email account you have. Then reset it up. Worked for me. No more burning up my pocket with a hot phone.

I'm also experiencing this issue: I've tried every fix: all those up top and others..It only gets worse! There has to be a fix for this!

Had the same problems. I did the soft reset and then went to settings-general-reset-reset all settings.

Scary, but fixed the problem completely!!!!!!!!!

But you have to redo all your settings.
