Hi, poppyseed83.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend going through the steps in the article below.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes

Should the "likelihood of success is directly related to how the customer speaks to the representative." Should it rather be the validity of the case?
The validity of the case is: "You allowed unauthorized service on your iPhone. This voided your service & support options through Apple. Thank you and have a nice day. Goodbye."
If you want to deal in facts only, then this is the primary issue at hand.
Now, if you want a more beneficial response, and the person you're talking to has the power to deny service completely, and they can't get in trouble with their boss for following the rules to the letter, but they do have the personal discretion to grant some for of exception... do you think it's better to use honey or vinegar?
You've never tried or been successful in talking your way out of a speeding ticket, have you?

What you said was not correct The damage to the Touch ID did not disable my ipad as it worked perfectly well after I had the screen replaced. It was the software that bricked up my ipad
Effect doesn't always immediately follow cause.
The iOS update/restore was the catalyst, not the cause.
Didn't I already give a detailed explanation in this thread? Something about valid driver license, then expired, then getting pulled dover by a cop?
Error 53 is an error that indicates a hardware issue:
Check for hardware issues
Errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 53, 56, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
Your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
If you still see the error message, check for outdated or modified software.
Thanks for playing!

Repetition does not equate to reality.

That's always been the case but, as you are well aware, you lose on the validity aspect. Speaking nice might help you get an exception.

When people have discretion, they are for more likely to use that discretion in the favor of people who are, at least, polite rather than those who are not, especially if they are limited in how often they can use that discretion and if the cases are otherwise equal. Besides, does it really make your day better to be unpleasant to someone who is not in a policy making position?
Why should this be a discretionary case? It seems that this problem is now running into thousands of ipads and iphones. If software updates bricks up an ipad with a replaced screen surely a reputable company such as Apple should be some way of allowing the customer revert back to the old software.

Because you don't have a valid case.
Because Apple has not yet announced a global policy about this. And because it has nothing to do with screen replacement.

Interesting, but also well-known. It's caused by an INCOMPETENT 3rd party repair. iFixit even has instructions on how to avoid the problem when replacing the screen.

If you saw it on the web, it must be true.
Hey
Is the error 53 affecting iPhone 6 and 6+ only? I haven't seen anyone complaining about 6s. Is that true?
Also, if I get new phone from apple store, £600, and after 13 months my ID touch suddenly fail and I'll try to restore my device and obviously it will die, what happen next?
1. I'll have to buy new phone for £540 (10% discount), that's £1140 in 13 months
2. They will fix it for me
Thanks
sorry for my english

Your english is fine, and better than a lot of native english-speakers.
It would affect the 6S, but independent repair shops can't get screens easily, so anyone with a broken screen has to go to Apple for the repair, and Apple will do it right (competent independents will do it right also; unfortunately, there's no good way to weed out the incompetents). The one source for screens that I've found charges more for the 6S screen than Apple does for a screen repair.
If your phone needs repair out of warranty Apple will either fix it or give you a replacement for about 1/3 the cost of a new phone, not the list price (even with a 10% discount). See the pricing here: Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
If it is only shortly out of warranty, sometimes an Apple store will still honor the warranty. They don't have to, so it's best to be polite when you ask.
Note that failure of Touch ID will not break the phone; touch ID will just stop working. It's if the sensor is changed so it no longer matches to encrypted fingerprint store that the phone will be bricked.
You have made an excellent point. We have 4 iphones,3 ipads, 2 mac minis and other apple products in our household. I have been involved with other teachers in introducing ipads to pupils.. I have always taken a keen interest in Apple’s new gadgets and I did not mind paying the extra for an excellent product. For me now the apple has lost its shine and I will be looking elsewhere for the top of the range products. For me and many others “Error 53,” has damaged the apple image.
