The main thing is that apple apologised and back tracked on the issue.

So go be happy. No one here has any obligation to apologize for their opinions.

When they pose their opinions as fact they do. But its never going to happen.

But at least apple have shown themselves to be better then the apple supporters on this sight and had the good grace to apologise, admit they were wrong the situation. That is the main thing.

Let me rephrase. No one is obligated to apologize to you for anything they've said here.

And yet you want an apology from those who didn't share your outrage. You are proving the mindset that triggers these threads. You just want to stay angry. You would make your point much more clearly, IMO, by "dropping the mic" and stop posting.

So... don't go away angry, just go away.

Gail was not one of those defenders. She insulted no-one.

Nobody shouted down anyone.

Those who understand the TOU here do not engage in right and wrong. That's why it gets quoted time and time again.

This is a technical support forum, populated by users who receive nothing but "points' for their efforts, and occasionally a rational conversation.

See, I don't think you understand that this is not Twitter or Facebook. So posting things just to be offensive is a) against the TOU, b) not a technical question or a request for help from fellow users, b) offensive.

Apple did what Apple did. We have no control over any of it, and it is also against the TOU for us to speculate about the what and the why.

So, maybe you could just stop being so insulting. I've not seen anything but insults posted by you in this thread, so if that is your sole purpose here, let us know so we can alert the hosts.

Gail, don't even bother. When people see themselves as waging a righteous fight against an oppressor, there is no point in arguing with them. You have always been one of the kindest people here. Don't let them get to you.

(I may eventually even learn to take my own advice.)

People fighting the ever-present First-World Problems. What a massive burden it must be for them..... You are so right, Meg. But I just have an issue with people that don't seem to have even the slightest idea what the word "civility" means. Signs of the times, I suppose. Name calling has taken the place of intelligent discourse. Sad that they don't know how to be scathing without reverting to name-calling..... Thanks for your post 🙂

I don't see anyone claim that Apple does no wrong. Nobody bats 1000.

The pushback you see is when posters come here and blame *everything* on Apple. The grassy knoll, Ishtar, Florida in the Gore/Bush election and so on. Plus they call us names.

Conspiracy theories fly fast and thick when someone has an issue with Apple's technology. Dealing with the "from my cold dead hands" crowd is maddening as when offered a reasonable and often proven solution, they don't like what they hear. It seems they don't want answers to their questions, they merely want us to agree with their ideas, theories and suggestions. The common theme is Apple does all of this obstructionist-like stuff in order to sell more phones.

I don't see the fanatics, as you term them (us?), defending Apple so much as common sense, reason and logic.

A lot of the apple defenders insulted the affected and shouted down anyone who suggested apple were in the wrong.

Now apple have admitted they were in the wrong and apologised and yet we have people like you still back paddling...

The main thing is that apple apologised and back tracked on the issue.

Provide links to the posts in which someone was insulted.

Be advised: Having a different opinion, stating you don't believe someone's statement, providing supporting evidence for a counterpoint, telling someone that their opinion is wrong, directing someone to contact Apple instead of using this forum when they want feedback from Apple or want to direct comments to Apple; these are not insults.
