iOS 8 & 8.0.2 AirPrint not working

My AirPrint is not working since iOS 8 install (both 8.0 and 8.0.2). Resets on everything have been done, including modem and printer. My MacBook prints just fine over wifi. Please help!

II'm using the Samsung XPress laser printer, model M2825DW It worked fine with iOS 7. I contacted Samsung support and they said to shut off the modem, printer, router and iOS device, restart, and it should be fixed. I did this after the install of both ios 8 and 8.0.2. It's still not working. AirPrint sees the printer, but nothing prints and no errors are received.

For both of you, if you do a search of the forum, there is another longer thread regarding AirPrint and the Samsung printers. In that one, a poster states that Samsung is aware of it. It appears that Samsung printers have been especially affected with the update and problem with AirPrint. Seems Samsung needs to do an update to their firmware for the printers. Posters have said that Samsung's print app is working though.

EDIT: Here is the other thread I was speaking about. It does contain information about a patch that Samsung is working on. AirPrint issue iOS8

My air printer (Epson XP-610) was also not discoverable from my iPhone, and other iOS devices after update. However, my macs were able to print as usual, with no issues.

The only thing that changed in my environment was the iOS Update. My printer settings were the same, my network settings, my mac settings, all the same before and after the iOS update. I tried restarting all my devices, of course didn't work.

Here is what worked for me. I ran the wifi setup on the Epson XP 610 again. First, I disabled the wifi print option to ensure no kind of wifi broadcast was coming from the printer. Then printed a test page plugged in. After that, I re-enabled the wifi print settings. I did this as though I just discovered this option, to be sure that the protocols used by the printer were, "Fresh", for the lack of a better description. The settings were the same as they were the first time I set it up.

Now everything just works again. I have my theories of why this works, and someone with deep technical knowledge could extrapolate on what is actually happening here. Nevertheless, I recommend trying this method for fixing this issue.

Like you and Aslewis2 I am having problems printing from all my devices since the upgrade to IOS 8.2 and I had a Dell B1265dfw. Prior to the upgrade everything was just fine and dandy... Now, I can't print at all. I've done everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the printer, shuting down the router and resetting all my devices... nada. All my printer does is spit out pages and pages of "URF ERRORS". Very frustrating. I spoke with an Apple specialist 2 days ago and she was helpful in regards to collecting information to forward to the tech. I should hear back from them within 3 to 5 days. So we shall see.

excellent news! I had contaced Dell with ths problem two weeks ago and the tech was deffinatley not Apple savvy. Very kind and helpful as he could be,,,end result was them sending a new printer and we all known the outcome of the new printer.. same problem of course. Since we just purchased this printer less than two months ago FOR its Airprint capabilities I am looking forward to the firmware update....all in all good to know Dell is "working" on it. I do have to give them points for trying to please the customer...they may save themselves a bundle getting the firmware update in lieu of replacing printers. Thanks WOPR1983
