Iphone 6 Plus 60fps causing camera app to freeze

Well, I might end up doing the same I cannot say consistent but sometimes the problem with the control center swiping wont respond, but that does happpen rarely. The thing is that then there is a RAM problem in a LOT of phones, not just some in particular. For instance all the peeps reporting this issue here plus the ones I have tried at Apple or retail stores. Also there is the assistive touch situation.

I am glad it has worked for you, I´ll try to see if going to an AppleStore and replace it is the best option or to report this malfunctioning and hopefully will be a software issue.

Nope 8.1.2 does not resolve it, I was hoping it would but no.

I just went to the "genius bar" with this issue. It had been happening for a while, but I recently missed large portions of my daughter's recital because of it. The Apple folks seem horrified when I tell them that anecdote. They replaced the unit. When I got home and restored it as a previous iteration of the phone, it did the same thing. Maybe a particular app is causing it? I have restored the phone as a new iPhone, so far it is not hanging or freezing.

I don´t think it is an app causing the issue, as I have posted previously. For me in the beginning it was just perfect and then I realized this was happening, it has to be something on the software, cuz not even with a brand new device the problem got solved as you can tell in your case.

Whatever it was, restoring my phone as a new iPhone seems to have done the trick--for now.

Yes...I found out Christmas eve when I was using the video that when I switched to take pictures, the video stopped on the screen but the video was still recording....then it all went black and I couldn't even get the camera to work at all. I had to stop the whole thing and start over...at one point I had to turn off my phone then turn it back on to get it to work. It happened Christmas Day also. I was using the video when it suddenly quit working and a black screen appeared. Ruined my Christmas videos...you can only open gifts once. 😟 Very disgusted with this phone! I thought about getting another one, but it seems like this is a software thing. I don't have that assist thing turned on either .

I have the same problem with camera and 60 fps mode and the video keep recording when I switch to photo mode. Is Apple working in update?

For me the problem ls related to the assistive touch, if I turn off that function the camera at 60fps works just fine. So yes there is an error that Apple had to fix but at least by removing the assistice touch works, we know our problem is software wise and not hardware.

Everyone: Please don't wait until Apple fixes this. VERY few people use "assistive touch", therefore, it will not come to Apple's attention unless you call their support desk and report it. I repeat....please call Apple and report this. Thank you....

I have same problem with my Iphone 6 + (128Gb).

It's been ok since I bought it from Japan Apple store (Oct 2014), for 2 months.

Now, whenever I switch between camera modes to slow-mo / timelapse mode, camera app freezes immediately.

I have to switch back to photo mode and refresh the phone in order to shoot photo.

Switchin between photo <->Video is still ok. only trouble with slow-mo & timelapse.

Note

I already turn off the "record video at 60 FPS" mode, turn off AssistiveTouch

Reset all setting and also completely restore new firmware IOS 8.1.2

Any idea about this error? is it soft or hardware issue?

I would recommend you to apply reboot and then make sure your device is updated to latest OS

I don't use assistive touch and it still freezes....something about switching from video to camera...slo mo to camera... I don't know... wish they would fix it though.
