iPhone 6 Plus headache and migraine

Been buying new iPhones every year since they have been released.. Received my new iPhone 6 plus last Friday the 19th on launch date and was super excited!

After owning the phone for a day, I started to notice that I have a really bad headache. Been using it for 12 days now and the headache has not gone away... The only difference that I can tell from this phone and my previous 5s is that this thing has NFC built into it with NO option to turn it off. I believe this is what is causing my headaches. I really love this phone but I'm obviously not going to jeopardize my health for screen size unless Apple adds a kill switch to this antenna.

A little background - I am very sensitive to Bluetooth. Any time I am around or using it, I get these headaches exactly what I am describing here. First thing I always do when I get my phones is shut off Bluetooth and everything has always been ok.

Has anyone else experienced a similar health concern?

Meg St._Clair, are you working for apple? If not, you are probably just another apple diehard fan. Don't need to be so defensive.

I don't have issue after switching to another phone. So I am pretty darn sure headaches and discomfort I've felt was radiating from my iphone 6 plus.

It's just like someone who can see ghost and some who can't. Simple theory.

No one here works for Apple. And yes, I get very upset about bad science. It leads bad decisions on the part of politicians and stupid choices on the part of the general populous.

Ghost?!? Seriously? That's your answer when the dicussion is about science? My fears about the quality of science educuation are borne out. You've also made it that much harder, when I tell people like employers that I have migraines, to convince them I'm not a crazy person.

Want more on science? Dallas is having a council issue on continuing to add fluoride to water. Because we all know that fluoride causes hundreds of diseases just like gluten. And makes you see ghosts.

Ever seen the wonderful movie "Dr. Strangelove..."?

Interesting. Have you tried blind tests with BT on/off ? I'm not doubting you, I'm convinced that there are people more sensitive to radio waves. But for this thing to fly, unbiased data must be collected otherwise non-believers will quickly brand you as lunatic.

If you don't know how to set an unbiased experiment to test BT sensitivity, just let me know, I'll explain. very easy.

this is a user helping user forum not apple we are users like you and the majority believe in science

if you wish to complain to extort apple use the feedback or other official channels

http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

http://www.apple.com/contact/

otherwise it's just trolling and since the apple phones use the same frequencies as other phones so it does not logical compute in the minds

of people who understand what frequencies are that ios devices would have a difference reaction then any other phone on the same network

Ok, so you disagree, this means I'm trolling and trying to extort money from Apple ? Have you lost your mind ?

iPhones, just as any other phones, obey regulations. There's a user complaining about RW sensitivity on BT: only way to prove that is to run a blind test. It's basic science. I'm curious about it, because I think there are people more sensitive to RW than others, they are a tiny fraction of the population. That's why nobody gives a *** about them.

If you're not happy with that, then I suggest you mind your own business, no one forces you to read that thread.

thanks

How did we get to Bluetooth? Earlier posts were talking about SARS and radiation from cell transmissions. Bluetooth is the same on every cell phone out there with the exception of Low Power BT which should pose less of a problem. If someone is tingling and getting headaches from Bluetooth they are going to be forced to stay indoors given the millions and millions of Bluetooth devices being used, including automobiles.

Is interesting topic so I had to sign up. I have had issues with wireless for many years so have a pretty good idea what causes problems. Meg doesn't know what she is talking about. SOME people are more sensitive than others to the wireless radiation. In other words some people get headaches and some don't. My brothers, wife and 4 kids don't. I do. Doctors will not and do not know what makes some people more sensitive to it than others. I have found out recently from Dr. Mercola that the carrier also has something to do with it. He said GSM emits 28 times the radiation as CDMA. I live in Canada and almost all cell phones and carriers bother me but for some reason in the U.S.A. I can tolerate it. Go back to your iphone 5 and see if you still get a headache. I have heard that the CDMA technolgy is now being replaced with something new again. ALL wireless radiation is unhealthy but cell phones are very useful if you can use them.

To be affected by bluetooth you have to be very close to it. At least for me. If I am in a car that is using it I get the tingly feeling and then the headache if I remain in that environment. Same thing in stores. If there is a bluetooth speaker and I walk right beside it I am affected so I move away. The makers of this stuff are making so much money selling it they don't care if it makes some people feel sick.

No, Meg does know what she is talking about. Dr. Mercola on the other hand, he is one of the biggest quacks on the planet.

If you are getting headaches from wireless radiation then you must be having them constantly since when you count broadcast signals, microwave ovens, TV screens, cordless phones, hot spots, etc. you could never avoid it.

Dr. Mercola didn't "say" it was 28 times higher he repeated a statement that a study made. Or more exactly something that someone else extracted from it. The only problem is that it is first a meaningless number and second isn't exactly true. Why would you be able to tolerate it in the USA? Verizon and Sprint, our two biggest CDMA carriers (and much bigger than the any in Canada) have been switching to LTE which is a GSM technology for some time. The iPhone 5 and all following iPhones are LTE and the phone is a CDMA/GSM hybrid.

Since Bluetooth is basically low power you would have to be within 40 feet of it. But if you are in a car and the driver isn't using Bluetooth you shouldn't feel any tingling. Plus the phone they are using is transmitting not the car. And in stores why would walking by a Bluetooth speaker affect you. First they are receivers only, they do not transmit any signals. Second stores demo them by connecting through the auxiliary port they don't connect via Bluetooth. So are you saying you are also affected by wired connections? Or that if the speaker just says it is Bluetooth it makes you sick? Or if you are around a device that can receive Bluetooth it bothers you? Do Airplay devices also affect you?
