iPad 2 keeps crashing rebooting after ios 8 update

Since updating my iPad 2 to ios 8 I have had numerous problems with it, first thing that happened was the accesscibility features came on and would'nt turn off, had to attach to my mac and disable them in itunes, also while this was occuring the ipad 2 kept randomly rebooting, this is still occuring, I have so far done a soft reset and a hard reset, I've done a restore, I've updated to ios 8.2 and still the same things happening, this is starting to get very annoying.

iPad 2 was working fine until this update . . please can anyone assist . . .

I have had this problem of crashing for over a week now.. Ipad 4 locked into recovery mode with 'Apple support spent two hours attempting repair, removing all apple prodcuts from my pc, sharing the pc screen, was unable to restore the ipad. I was persistent with Black screen of death, and finally after pressing 'sleep' and 'home' keys together multiple times, was able to boot and and did a full restore. This did not work and support set up an appointment with the Apple store and a 'Apple Genius" did a full restore in the store from an imac. He restored it to a new ipad, which lost all settings, stored pics, docs and game stats.

System crashed when I got home with the apple logo on the screen, and a lot of 'panic' type text on the screen. It did however, start up. I then did a backup to icloud, and painfully re-loaed and re set-up all of my apps. Had one crash reboot yesterday, another this morning while browsing contacts.

This is an OS problem and the sooner APPLE recognizes it and creates a new version, the better off we will all be. Until then, user community: get used to crashes and re-boots.

Mines an iPad 2 and it's now getting to the point where I will quite happily go to the Apple Genius bar with it and tell them where to politely shove it, I've spent 3 weeks trying to resolve this issue and all I've learnt so far is :

Apple Store Genius says its a Hardware fault, but can't tell me what piece of hardware has failed

Apple Store Manager tells me that I can replace it at a cost

Apple Support Forums are more helpful than Apple Stores and they also prove my argument with the Apple Store Manager that I'm not the only Apple customer with an iPad who is having this problems with a Looping Crash/Reboot

But most importantly I've learnt that Apple are no longer interest in helping their customers, they are just interested in money being parted from their customers.

Let's see what happens to our iPad's when they roll out iOS8.1 will it fix them of will it cause more iPad/iPhones to crash/reboot

Looking into it further to find the issue, I basically switched off EVERYTHING that communicates to the outside world (notifications, location services etc.)

And the iPad was completely stable after that. It works fine all day. But as soon as I put on WIFI only (with everything else still off) and one app started to go online BANG it crashed again and went into reboot loop (but only 5 minutes worth this time as opposed to hours last time). Clearly this is connected to how people are losing cellular. My crashes previously happened when iMessages came in. The code triggering fail is in the comms. Well that would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that most apps need to talk to the outside world! Well 8.1 is coming out tomorrow, let's see if they have addressed this issue.

ps. the other disturbing thing is that its not everyone who is experiencing this. I thought it may be because of model and poor coding connected with older chips but that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't think the kids at the Apple store will help because this is beyond them. This is a major coding screw up that's slipped past the testers and QA.

so it is a hardware problem according to Apple? and it did not start until the update to iOS 8? logically, it would be iOS 8 created the hardware problem since none of us had this problem in all previous iOS's. another logical thing would be Apple replaces it with a new iPad. unfortunately, the word logically is involved, but there is no logic on Apple's end.

what annoys me the most about it all is that Apple will not let people downgrade to ios7 to test it themselves and hopefully prove that iOS8 broke their iPads and that it's not a Hardware fault.

I work in IT myself and there are numerous occasions at work when we've done a roll out of new software and its caused issues with Systems and we've then had to find out what is causing the issues, if it's not a known issue then it's a case of a process of elimination, i.e. Roll Back the software, do a fresh install, try the install on a same spec system, try an upgraded system etc, only after exhausting all avenues do we then find out what the issue is, be it software or hardware, but Apple don't even do that they just say "Oh when we install iOS8 it should work, if it doesn't then its a hardware fault" there's no lets see if it still shows the issue when we roll it back to iOS7.

It appears that there just not interested in actually trying to figure out whats actually wrong or whats the root cause for people who seem to be suffering from this issue with the iPad/iOS8.

For the amount of money people spend on Apple devices the support for the customer is in my view appalling and I await to see if iOS8.1 resolves my issue. . . . . not holding my breath though

same s**t. As soon as the release came out I updated it right away, hoping that there would be a fix to the endless rebooting. less than 5 minutes after the update! Boom!!

Me too. Don't know what model iPad i have and I'm beginning to care less. Definitely 8.0.2 (I went through that pain). Does anyone at Apple monitor this page? Have they made an announcement about when THEY will fix it (no I am not wasting more of my life resetting/rewhatever).

I had mine reboot a couple of times, before I finally figured out it needed more space ... and when I gave it more space, it quit doing it and proceeded to finish ... but ... I do note that you said you gave it ample space. This is just a note for others.

Ipad 2 - 3G - 64Gb

1) I had updated my Ipad with IOS 8.0 and has had all the problems that everybody know but especially the Ipad not turn up correctly, the screen flashed

2) 2 day ago in the morning i found the ipad in loop, the Apple icon appeared e then after some time the ipad restart again and again and again without give to me the possibility to do anything with itunes, until the only possible thing to do has been to reinstall all and recover all from the backup

3) after the recovery I have more 800 app and all are scattered and mixed Especially out of the original forlders but the ipad has only 15 screens (max 300 app) not all are Showed in itunes are Showed in 20 screens but everithing is very very very slow and difficult to to do, all the organization maded during the years is gone lost, a very disaster

4) I have upgraded to ios 8.02 but the problem when switch on is always present, when you switch off it, then it not switch on again but only after a lot of attempts with the supply cord plugged it restart, I much fear a repeat of the loop and I must start all over again.

5) I hope that the 8.03 will be available very very quickly

Plenty of space on my iPad. Had to be because I had to delete a whole load of stuff to upgrade! Hah. (PS. Would have posted this sooner but guess what? Yeah, my iPad rebooted itself)

Mine is an iPad4 and has 12GB available.. Reboots occur 5-8 times per day.. Sometimes it locks itself in the 'sleep' mode and you have to hold the sleep and home buttons for an extended time to get the apple to display. I loved my iPad when it was on os 6 and 7. I NEVER had to restart for any reason in a year and a half !. Guys, I worked my whole life in computers and mostly Microsoft systems, and this is sounding more and more like one of those 'planned obscolence' things that Microsoft was so famous for. However, it won't work on me. I will not trash my iPad. It either works, or I will go back to my laptop.Hes in the closet does she know ?? BTW, I won't do 8.1 until someone starts posting some notes that the 'hardware' problem has been resolved.

I have the iPad 4 and iOS 8.1 is working better than iOS 8.0.2, and I wasn't having any big troubles on that prior one, either (just a few minor glitches).
