iMessage not working on MacBook Pro Retina

My iMessage stopped working on my MacBook!

Details: new to the mac world (former PC) and still getting used to all the wonderful features of being part of the mac-family! One of my favorites is iMessage. It instantly began working upon opening my new Mac and signing into my account. It was great, the clouds parted and I saw angels! Really, it takes that little to impress me. And then it all went away....and it has been raining and grey in my world ever since. I've gone to the forums and tried signing in and out of my account on iMessage. I've deleted files found in ~/Library/Preferences. I've even said a little prayer. But I miss it, and I want it back, desperately.

I don't know if I've given all of the information needed, but PLEASE, help me! And, thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,

Has the Contact's name or ID or iPhone number gone red at the top of the window ?
Do all contact's go red ?

Is there any error messages about all the Contacts "Not being Registered" when you try and Send an iMessage ?

And this Apple ID works in iCloud, iTunes and FaceTime ?

These are all different servers and you could (it's a possibility) that you have an issue with just one of them (the iMessages server).

Hi,

See this Answer in this thread Re: Why is My iMessage is not working on Mac

Basically Contact Apple support and get to speak to a Level 2 person about an Apple ID issue (not Software or Hardware) and persuade them to check your Mac's iMessages Server Registration.
