iPhone vibration pattern different from setting

I'm having the identical problem with the same exact settings on the iPhone 6. No one at Apple Care had any idea what I was talking about. Frustrating.

Mine running 8.1 (iPhone 6 128GB) is also doing the double vibrate. Charger connected or not connected regardless of what pattern I choose. It really is a pain as that double vibrate has always been incoming text. So now when its in my pocket I think I'm getting a text but its just some junk gmail. Very frustrating..

I'm having the same issue. Very obnoxious.

I am also having issues. I have set up specific people, which are in my contact list to have custom vibrations. They don't work. All e-mails have the same default pattern no matter what i do.

Same problem here. Infuriating. For all these years you get used to the vibration patterns - 1 for email and 2 for text. Now it just won't work. Tried everything to get email back to a Quick vibration but it keeps coming through with Staccato. How hard of a bug can this be for Apple to fix?

I Have spoke to Apple about this. You cannot assign custom vibrations to emails. Only calls and texts.

First: You can (or why would they provide the possibility for that?)

Second: That's not what this topic is about! The problem is that the selected notification option (sound AND vibration) is started twice! The first vibration is aborted and then restarts, and the sound is played two times shortly after another so it sounds like an echo

same issue, but is intermittent. Sometimes get the single buzz for email, sometimes the text staccato.

I am having the same problem and it is somewhat affirming to see that I'm not alone! I actuallu have questioned my sanity on this one...

I am having the same issue but like other users report, it's not consistent and comes and goes. Using iPhone 5c, iOS 8.1.

I am a iPhone tech and I am also having the same problem. I have tried rebooting the phone and resetting all settings. This has not resolved the issue. I could try restoring from my iCloud backup...but I really don't want to. Perhaps there will be a update to fix this issue.

I've been working very closely with Apple Tecb Support on this issue...

The problem is on the programming end, and currently can't be solved... They are working very hard on it, and have been VERY proactive in following up with me, but the solution does, indeed, need to come from them! Nothing we can reboot, tweet, etc. Stay tuned!!

Same issue here, it seems the mail single vibration works when the phone is on, but on the lock screen, both texts and mail result in two vibrations.

Like everyone else I dislike having to look at my phone for every piece of junk mail!

Hope we can get a solution soon, this text specific notification feature loss is a major loss for me.

I am also having this intermittent problem and it is very frustrating - not knowing what type of alert I've received without removing my phone from my pocket. Sadly it still doesn't appear to be fixed in the latest iOS patch either.

I've also been having this problem ever since I got my iPhone 6. Very frustrating. Resetting settings only works for a short time, it always resorts back to the text vibration for emails. iOS 8.1.3 on 64GB iPhone 6. Eagerly awaiting a fix.
