iPhone 6 poor picture quality

I have an iPhone 6 (64gb AT&T) running iOS 8.02 and I'm experiencing poor image quality with photos taken with the camera. It looks they are artificially over sharpened and fairly pixelated when compared to photos taken with my iPhone 5. It's most noticeable when capturing skin tones in a lowish light setting. It almost looks like there has been a bad watercolor effect added to then photo. I'm attaching a few examples that have been cropped to show the problem spots. Anyone else having this issue?

was getting the run around from the techs 8.1.1 will not fix it. after sending in amigos of the iPhone 4s with its better pics and the new pics on 6 ( unusable when zoomed at all and horrible just on their own) I was told that that is how the new phone is supposed to function and there is nothing wrong with my unit or software. they also told me that its not an issue as they have been getting no complaints about it. i showed them threads and reviews but they said unless apple is contacted directly they will not even consider making changes. I have to say this has been THE worst apple purchase ever. such a downgrade. If anyone here with the same issue could please call apple or fill out the form in the link below so this actually makes in on their radar please do. At this point looking at getting a nokia lumia instead.

As I said previously, pictures in burst mode shows a lighter noise reduction filter:

As you can see, in burst mode the image is much more detailed, but still not as detailed as in mi old iPhone 4.

Also, just to give you an idea on how huge is the detail loss in photos taken with an iPhone 6. This image compressed in a lossless format as PNG takes 0.7mb, but in RAW BMP format is 1.4 bmp. When the lossless PNG algorithm is able to get such high compression with an image, is a clear signal that the original image has hugh areas with 0 variation, and with very low detail.

The iPhone 5S does NOT have an optical zoom so zooming when taking a photo does the same as blowing up a jpg in a graphics program (because it is blowing up a jpg).

Get info on the photos and you will see the file size differences (from zoom to non-zoom).

They are both the same # of pixels but because the way jpg compresses the files (tossing out duplicate bits) and the zoomed photo has pixels that are doubled )or whatever size).

Take a regular photo and take a zoomed photo of same shot.

Now crop the regular photo so it shows the same as the zoom shot.

Resize the photo to same size as the zoomed shot and will look similar.
