I have noticed that the videos on the iphone 6 plus are very dark compared to the pictures ... Is this normal or does my phone have an issue ?

have tried a cloud album https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A1GI9HKKGRaA3K
If you have a YouTube Account, you can upload the video to your YouTube and then a link to it here.
Low Light video comparison between iPhone 6 and 4S, plus how the different apps affect low light video within the iPhone 6:
*sorry for the rushed quality

Please don't say we're expecting too much from the camera in low light conditions, as we're not comparing the iphone against all other cameras, but comparing with previous iphones, therefore this is a relative comparison.
I would expect the newer iphone 6 to be at least as good if not better in these conditions.
I believe there is an exposure / iso (800?) cap with the iphone 6 using the main camera app.
Thanks
Visited the Apple Store today to discuss this with one of their 'Genius's' and the response wasn't great.
Basically they are only there to fix problems with broken items. As this affects all iPhone 6's it would need to be raised via the Apple Feedback section on their website:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
So I suggest we get as many people as possible to register this as an issue.
For me, I would like the option to turning this exposure / iso cap on & off, as I can understand why they did it (to reduce image noise by reducing gain), but in most circumstances it seems to be too heavily enforced.
My Canon M56 allows me to set the software gain levels directly, so this would be great on an iphone.
I finally got a chance to look at the side by side videos. I do see what your describing. It is a little darker. I don't know if Apple will do anything about it, but at least I see what you're seeing. So thanks.
I just bought iphone6. I am disappointed with the low-light video quality of iphone6 😟 While I was recording a video, I was looking at the phone of a guy near me who was capturing the video of the same environment with a phone of another brand. I just stopped recording with my iphone6 sadly, watched the event, and asked this guy to send me the video that he captured. Anyway, the solution should be increasing the exposure time by reducing the frame rate. I hope reducing the frame rate and increasing the exposure time opportunity can be provided in the next version of the software. I hope they provide this feature as soon as possible since I did not bought iphone6 to carry another camera with me.
I would urge anyone who feels they are affected by iPhone 6 low light issue to submit a 'Bug Report' via the following link:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I am planning to wait for the next IOS update and if it is not resolved, aim to sell the iPhone 6 for a 5S, which I have tested and does not suffer this restriction.
You could also try one of the more robust photo processing Apps from the App Store. Procamera is one that let's the user adjust ISO and White Ballance. For $2.99 or less, some of these apps may solve some peoples issues?
Many thanks for the suggestion, however the issues relate to video capture with the rear camera (still image capture is not affected).
A number of people (including myself) have tried using alternative video capture apps, however the gain limit seems to be set in the firmware and not controllable via apps.
Thanks
I see. I'm not much of a video shooter. I take stills a lot with my iP6, which so far have more than met my expectations.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
I just called Apple Care about this problem, which my wife I have on both iPhone 6 Pluses. They said it has not been formally reported to Apple and that the only way to do that is either by phone as I did or by submitting it here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I was surprised that they said Apple does not officially monitor these forums, and so unless it is formally submitted by phone or as official feedback on the http://www.apple.com/feedback/web site, their engineers will not look into it.

Happy New Year everyone!
Could anyone recommend some video-recording apps that I can use to resolve this problem? I tried Camera+ but it seems shooting video isn't possible with it. Looking for an efficient program - would appreciate any feedback.
So we have to log into these forums with our Apple ID's, but no one from Apple monitors the threads. No wonder they are so slow to fix widespread issues.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, who's seen the video quality of the iPhone 6 or 6+ video shot in low light would/should be appalled. I know what the sensor and lens are capable of (or what is claimed) and for video not to equal or surpass the quality of the regular photo a complete failure on Apple's part. A failure in design, implementation and testing! Period! Truly disappointing.
I believe a previous bug fix may have caused this (or at least contributed to it).
I vaguely remember hearing about an issue where audio and video would be out of sync when recording for longer periods of time on the iPhone 6 and the IOS update solved this by fixing the frame rate of video to 30fps.
As many of you will know the iPhone has used variable frame rates to cope with different lighting conditions (ie lower lighting conditions would reduce the frame rate to allow more time for light to hit the sensor per frame).
As I own both an iPhone 4S and 6, I have exported the footage shot in the same conditions and using the free 'Media Info' software (windows), it clearly states the iPhone 6 is now capturing footage using fixed frame rates (30fps), whilst in the same conditions the iPhone 4S is using variable frame rates (24fps).
Therefore I urge everyone who is reading this forum to send a Bug Report to apple via the link below to resolve this problem in the next IOS update, as it shouldn't be huge problem to overcome:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
In the mean time, the only workaround to slightly improve the footage is to use a paid app called 'VideoGrade' (£3.99) which allows you to change a huge amount of different settings on existing footage. It's really not a complete solution as increasing the brightness (exposure) causes a huge amount of video noise to be visible, but at least its something:

Cheers
The Apple supervisor I have been working with called me today and said that their engineers have not received any formal bug reports about this problem other than mine. Of course, I don't know if that is true, but the more people who formally report it, the faster they will make it a priority to fix it. She said they are escalating this in my particular case but they will only be communicating with me about this. She repeated that they are not "allowed" to post anything on these forums.
