Changing 'Hey Siri' Voice Activation Command

Is it possible to change the command 'Hey Siri' to something else on my 6+?

I simply hate the name Siri and can't stand saying 'Hey Siri'. I love the new voice activation, but I won't run it if I have to call my phone Siri...

eeeeeeeeeeeeehhhh I don't know man. Apple is usually pretty cool with modifications like this. I think they would enjoy it, and perhaps even give me a prize were I to do it!! 😐

You must be talking about a different company with the same name. Apple allows very little in the way of modifications of iOS. They restrict acces to many of the APIs. This is why the Android OS and jailbreaking are popular among people who like to tweak the UI. Apple doesn't approve of either one.

You can't change it without removing the protections on the phone, leaving it open to malware and voiding the warranty on the phone. And, depending on how it's coded and encrypted, you may also run afoul of copyright laws by changing it.

SSo next time you go into a Starbucks or classroom full of iPads plugged in, say "Hey Siri". Then go for it.

I'm not sure why I'd want to do that but, hey, if it amuses you and you don't feel bad about annoying people, have at it. Though, come to think of it, I rarely see people with their iPads plugged in in Starbucks (where I spend way too much time and money). The advantage of great battery life.

We should all give up on this conversation. Looks like we are stuck with "Hey Siri". Although, It would be fun to walk up to someones plugged in iPhone and say "hey siri, text my wife. I want a divorce b*&ch!" lol If you've noticed, you don't have to say "Hey siri" and wait for siri to activate. You can just say "hey siri (and any command)" in one sentence and it does it. Of course, the person would have to be away from their phone and the phone would probably have to be unlocked.

So nice that you're happy. However, it seems many are not which is the point. Apple's policy of dictating what makes people happy rather than listening is one reason why so many people hate Apple and jailbreak their devices.

The fact is, could you imagine everyone in the same room being called "Jim"? It be like "Hey Jim!" And everyone would turn around and look at you and then you say "He's dead Jim!!"

SIriously, Apple needs to get some humilty and accept that many people are looking for a little more flexibility.
