software from 10.6.8 running on Maverick?

Since the computer business in toto takes care that some day your system will crash if you don't buy upgrades, I realize that OS 10.6.8 is undermined more and more by malfunctions. There is not even a protection software like intego available that is properly working with my system. They FORCE you to buy.

Working with an intel iMac and OS 10.6.8, I have installed e. g. Logic Pro 8.0.2 (very expensive software), Pages '08 3.0.3, Microsoft Office 2004 with Word 11.0 and so on. Can you tell me whether this software will run with Maverick, too? And I read about lots of malfunctions in Maverick - are the bugs fixed, meanwhile?

Google is your friend. We don't know exactly what software you run. Go to the developer's sites and see if they have compatable versions. If not then stay with Snow Leopard.

If there weren't more and more security problems, I wouldn't even consider to change my fine running system. But e. g. I have more and more problems with a Yahoo-malware in Firefox that I can't fix with the running virus detection systems. (I hesitate to use Safari instead because it is the primary Apple spyware.)

Intego doesn't work any more since the last available upgrade (quite sure that they did that deliberately), and I can't get an older version anywhere. And I dont't find a new security software working with 10.6.8.

Knowing this, maybe you could share one more idea with me?
