I was having the same problem. My son has an iPad Pro and I was getting the notifications from iCloud Family to approve his purchases on my iPhone 6. The notifications would appear for a couple of seconds and vanish. Didn't know where to go to find them and approve his purchase. Luckily, I read here an easy solution: on the iPhone 6, swipe down from the home screen and all the notifications will appear. You should see the ones from iCloud Family. Click on each one and it will take you to a screen where you can decline or approve the purchase. I had to repeat the process for each notification and re-enter my Apple ID each I approved. Hope this helps.

issue: the message for granting the authorization desappeared when unlocking my iPad. Not possible to find it on my iPad.

What worked for me:

1. Go to: Settings --> Notifications --> Messages

2. The "Alert style when unlock" was on "none". Select "Banner" or "Alerts"

3. Ask my daughter to try again to get the app

4. Grant the authorization (Apple Store login required)

5. Ask my daughter to try again to get the app: this time the system downloaded the app

I've had all of these problems:

1. Trouble finding the notifications

2. Then, finding the notifications but not be able to give permission, and then they go away.

3. Now, I just don't get the notifications, so I have to be present when my child wants to buy something so I can just give permission there.

I will try the logging in and out solutions--but, gosh, it stinks to spend so much time trying to figure this out and then waiting for answers . . .

This has been bothering me for a long time, finally looked for an answer only to find there is none. It's absurd not to have a console of some sort to manage family accounts from. I understand Apple's lawsuit against Samsung now, Samsung really has stolen Apple's model of selling very nice hardware bogged down with absolute crap software, with a healthy dose of Microsoft's Kafkaesque security hobbles. Thank goodness Apple doesn't monitor this forum in anyway, or listen to customer feedback at all. God forbid they respond to their customers, after all, we're idiots.

I know this is an old thread, but it seems that the Family sharing "ask to buy" still is buggy as ever. First, I have two daughters, one of them bought a game (Octagon...), ask to buy, I get the notification on my iPhone, tried to approve it, a blank screen with "cancel" on the top left, and "loading.." animation on the middle, and nothing else, and waited forever, it's just stuck in that loading state. Click cancel, and basically the notification is gone and app download is declined. Notification also didn't show up on my Macbook pro. I asked her to try again, while I was logged in on my Mac, and the notification showed up on both my Mac and iPhone. Again I tried approving on my iPhone, same thing, hangs on "loading". But since I saw the notification on my Mac, tried it there, works just fine, I was able to approve the Mac App store game.

Now my second daughter wanted to download the same game. She is not seeing that the game is already purchased by her sister (which both of them is part of my Family sharing). She tried "ask to buy", i saw the notification on my phone, this time again, not showing up on my Mac. Tried to approve again on my iPhone, hangs again on "loading". But this time, since I can't see the notification on my Mac even when I am online, I can't approve the purchase of a Free item, which another family member already purchased. Even if we try again several times. Same experience.

I also tried approving on my iPad, the same happens... loading... forever.

Having the same issue that others are having, my issue is on Clash Royale my stepson is trying to buy gems, I approved the purchase but since I updated out CC on itunes I needed to enter the CCV code, I've entered the code three times on three different devices and it's still working. He still cannot make additional purchases when he tries Clash Royale shows that he has a pending purchase so not only did his purchase not get approved he can't make any additional purchases. Very frustration.

Well, Apple have managed to hide this really well.
This is how you find it:
* Put your finger outside the screen at the top

* Swipe down
* Yet another kind of well hidden list is shown where you find the Family share requests

To Apple:
I looked in my sons Family share item in the Settings, in the App store app and in the settings of the swipe-right panel (what ever that is called) and was expecting to find the Family share notice. I was also expecting my son to be able to send yet another request, to be able to find the notice again. He could either re-send the same request nor send a new one for another app. Beside that I'm also expecting a setting so that my son can download any free app, but not buy an app nor download an app having In-App Purchase. When downloading a free app, I would also like to be able to have the option to get notified when he download a free app.
