Teaching voice recognition new words

Is there anyway to teach the voice recognition system on iMessage new names and words? For example my name is Taimoor but whenever I dictate into iMessage the name shows up as tame more. Thank you.

That's great for NAMES, but what about when Siri gets everything else wrong. For example, I asked for Siri to look up the word sentiment… See, still putting the wrong freaking weird! UGH! There too! Sentient* Word*. AHHHH! Then, I tried to word sentence. AGAIN. Sentience*. (Uh, *** happened to word suggestions after 8.1.1 today?)

, Here's the deal. I can't type., We're dismissing at the beginning of the sentence. Oh look, more is missing. This is ridiculous I use talk to text all the time because I have to. His post looks awful. What is going on fix this!

EDIT: That has got to be the Worst (Uh, I wanted THERE but I guess talk to text does not do that. And it randomly capitalize the word there. What is going on?). Post I have ever made. This is horrible. How do I downgrade back to 8.0.1?

Hey there Taimoor,

If I understand correctly, Siri is not recognizing your name correctly. You can add a phonetic pronunciatin for it, with the following article, which should get it working correctly for you with this info:

iOS: Troubleshooting Siri

If Siri is pronouncing a name incorrectly you can add phonetic first and last names to your contact entries:

  1. Open the Contacts application.
  2. Select the contact that Siri is mispronouncing.
  3. Tap "edit" in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap "add field".
  5. Add phonetic first and last names as needed.
  6. The new fields will appear at the top of the contact. You can then spell out your name phonetically to assist with pronunciation.
  7. When finished making changes to the contact, tap Done in the upper-right corner of the screen.
