Bizarre Mic Issue with iPhone 6 Plus 128
Ever since I've had the phone, since about September 26th, the only thing I noticed that wouldn't work correctly was the old "dictation mic" button. I would push it while SMSing with someone compatible with iMessages and it would bring up the mic thing like it was recording. I would talk and talk and it would never end until I pushed done. After pushing done it would write no words at all. I figured dictation was screwed up due to some unknown reason on Apple's backend and I would try again later.
In the meantime, I had been using the new voice messaging feature. Today after turning on my phone I noticed that voice messages records nothing but loud garbage noise when its played back. I cannot hear my voice at all. I then freaked out and tested my phone via calling someone. They could hear me perfectly with no audio issues. I then attempted to use the Voice Memos app and it also recorded with no problems. This leads me to believe it's not necessarily a mic issue, but what else could it be?
Any ideas on what could make dictation never work and for voice messages to suddenly not work? I've tried restoring from an iCloud Backup and I have also restored as a new phone with no success. My phone hasn't been around liquids or moisture nor has it been injured or dropped. It is in a "Ballistic Tungsten Case, but the mic is in no way blocked and I see nothing in the ports at the bottom.
Anyone else have this issue?
