how do you rid your system of secure paths.com/pixel.cgi?

My system is a OSX 10.9.4. I noticed one response that recommended turning off extensions but my extensions were never turned on. Is the a malware or adware?

Thanks

I have a related problem.

I have a macbook pro and use safari mainly. I do not know what is happening exactly, but twice now, after browsing sessions with multiple tabs open, when I go to close the tabs, the name of the website I was on changes to okay and opens new tabs instead of closing the tab, as I was trying to do. Confused, I then look in history to see that the websites I had been visiting are gone and replaced by the name "okay" and the URL is www.securepaths.com/pixel?s and a long number.

Googling secure paths led me to here, but most of the posts were old, and not exactly the same. I saw Linc Davis response to several people, particularly, curiousbutterfly, so I followed the instructions and am creating a new post because I couldn't figure out how to reply the the original thread. I ran the terminal script as suggested and posted it to pastebin, but I don't know how to link you to it. The URL is http://pastebin.com/index/w5N2niuP and it has the terminal script results.

THANK YOU, and sorry for being a complete posting illiterate.

I do think it is some sort of malware, and in 26 years of daily mac use -- THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TIME FOR ME TO EVER CATCH ANYTHING -- at least that I have ever known about.
