How to add caller to Facetime audio call in ios8?

Lots of announcement include the suggestion that conference calling for Facetime audio has been added to iOS 8.

When I try to setup a conference call I don't have access to the 'merge all' button in Facetime.

1. Setup facetime audio call with other facetime user

2. Add another user by clicking the add button

3. Establish Facetime audio connection with the new caller

4. Merge calls (this doesn't work, how to get this working?)

FaceTime audio conference calling still isn't fixed as of iOS 8.1.2. The Merge icon still remains greeted out. Hopefully a maintenance update will fix it soon.

Yeah, as of IOS 8.1.3 is still doesn't work. C'mon Apple!!!!

As of 8.2 STILL the problem is not resolved, tried to conference call, everybody on iphone 5s or better and iOS 8.2. Merge button still greyed out. 😢

Ok, officially, THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED into 8.3, Please everyone here call and ask to check if it work, and because it dont, ask to follow up to engineers. +1 (800) MY-APPLE

I recommend that we remove my answer and keep going to see why it do that.

FFs, it still hasnt been fixed!

Supporting and submitting issue to apple.

I mean, we had to use Skype on conference call and all have ipads iphones and macs.

A free videoconferencing alternative with more flexibility than Skype and FaceTime is Google Hangout.. Works with iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS. Permits up to 10 participants in video.

Thank you. We will try this tonight if still unsuccessful with Apple. Big black mark for Apple though and another demerit for not communicating the issue and work arounds. It's great to have a user support community but only benefits Apple to the degree they engage.
