I'm looking to record a cover version of "Hotel California." What's the ideal time signature and tempo?

I really want to showcase my chops by recording a cover version of "Hotel California." How do I go about this? What is the ideal tempo and time signature for Garageband?

GarageBand can do nearly any time signature and a wide range of tempos.

Hotel California was originally recorded in the key of E minor which turned out to be the wrong key for Don Henley to sing and was later re-recorded in the proper key for his voice which was B minor.

It has 4 /4 time signature. To find the tempo, drag the audio file into the garageband window and play along. It should roughly give an average tempo of 143 bpm.
