I have about 4000 pix in iPhoto. They all are organized into albums, etc. so they are easy for me to find.

But by having them all in one Library, is slowing down iPhoto.

Is there a way to have separate iPhoto Libraries?

It took me quite a while to realize HomePage and iWeb were 2 separate applications!

Is HomePage going to be around or will it go by the wayside in favor if iWeb? It was mentioned that now you can only send directly from iPhoto to iWeb. Sounded like you used to be able to send to HomePage too.

I need to study HomePage a bit more now that I'm understanding a bit more about the whole works.

I'll keep studying! Thanks for the info.

I think HomePage will be around but you have to do everything on line. I upload a folder of pictures I want to use in a folder titled for the page, i.e "grandaughter-2" or similar, to the Pictures folder on my iDisk. Then I go my .Mac account online and select HomePage. There you can select that folder of pictures, a theme and go from there. There are pros and cons to both HomePage and iWeb. I think HomePage sites load a little faster but not they take more work to create.

If you do a lot of uploading to your iDisk I found an application, Transmit, that is 5 to 6 times faster than doing it via the Finder. It is so much faster!

I haven't done a lot with iDisk. I do have some pics that I loaded into a folder to use on iCards.

It took awhile to figure out how to up-load them...turns out our connections in the coach were not fast enough and it kept timing out. Once I got on the WiFi here at the RV park, I could download stuff using the faster connections.

We're always "on line" with our coach satellite system, but it isn't too fast, altho' beats dial up and having to go find a connection in some hot stuffy laundry room! (Altho, RV parks are getting better with internet connections than they used to be!)

I posted a ? on the iWeb site and got a reply. All the pic are PNG format. Found out that when you send large photos and have iWeb shrink them, they go to that format, are larger and slower to load. It was suggested to reduce the size first, then send the smaller ones to iWeb and the site would load faster.

So will give that a try.
