No SIM ejector tool with my new iphone, why?

I received my new iphone 6 today with a long waiting history, but when I receive my new phone, I can not open the sim slot because the company does not give me a SIM ejector tool. I just want to know why

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8

Unlocked is not the question. Did it come with a SIM installed? If it did, you would not get a tool. If it didn't, someone made a mistake. What do you say about that?

But why are you so concerned? Just use a paperclip.

I live in the UK so it may be different but If you got a contract phone from a carrier service like EE (UK) or AT&T (US) etc. you won't get a sim ejector tool because a sim should be already will be in it but if you bought the phone directly from apple unlocked or another store unlocked it should come with one but surely you should have a paperclip, sewing needle lying around in your home?

So use a paper clip. It works better anyway; easier to hold. Apple expects you to buy iPhones in the country where you will use it. That is the only place the warranty is valid.

You bought an unlocked AT&T phone rather than a SIM-free phone. They are not the same thing. A SIM-free phone would have no SIM in it, and would have come with a SIM ejector tool.

There is a difference between unlocked and carrier-independent. For example, all Verizon phones are unlocked, but they come with a SIM pre-installed. As far as a SIM tool is concerned it is not related to unlocked or how much you paid. If your phone comes with a pre-installed SIM it will not come with a SIM tool even if it is unlocked. If it does not have a pre-installed SIM it should come with a tool.

in Europe nobody is thinking a buyer will never open its phone and stay with the same carrier for years, if he wishes.

But you didn't buy it in Europe (which was a mistake, BTW, as you will discover when it needs service). And in the US most users DO stay with the same carrier for years. I've been with the same carrier for 30 years.
